A person died in an elephant attack at Seethur village in N.R. Pura taluk of Chikkamagaluru on Saturday. Umesh, 56, was working in his agricultural field when the elephant attacked him.
Following the incident, the local people blamed the negligence of the Forest Department officials for the death. The officials did not make efforts to drive away the wild elephants even after informing them about the elephant’s movement, they said.
