Public hearing for differently abled women

The Sakhi Women’s Resource Centre here will organise a public hearing for differently abled women on Monday afternoon in connection with International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

The hearing will be held from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at St. Antony’s Hall, Trivandrum Social Service Society, Vellayambalam. It is intended to bring to public attention the challenges in the lives of differently abled women and the systemic steps to be taken to address them.

District Legal Services Authority secretary and sub-judge S. Shamnad will be the chief guest. State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities P.T. Baburaj and Kerala State Planning Board Social Services Division chief Bindu P. Verghese, Kerala Women’s Commission member Indira Raveendran, and former member of the Kerala Public Service Commission R. Parvathi Devi will be the special guests.
