Georgia Protest LIVE | Tbilisi Protesters Clash With Police Over EU Membership Talks | Georgia News

Police in Georgia’s capital, Tbilisi, used tear gas and water cannons early Saturday to disperse protesters rallying against the government’s suspension of European Union membership negotiations. Demonstrations erupted for a second consecutive night outside Parliament after Thursday’s announcement, with protesters swarming the streets and attempting to breach metal gates around the building. Clashes also broke out in the Black Sea port city of Batumi late Friday. Authorities reported 43 arrests on Thursday night, with more made during Friday’s unrest. The protests follow public discontent with the Georgian Dream party’s contested election victory in October, seen as a key moment for the nation’s EU aspirations. Watch the broadcast to know more.
