Minister for NRI Empowerment Affairs Kondapalli Srinivas has said that the Andhra Pradesh government is making all efforts to bring back the youth stranded in Saudi Arabia.
In a statement on December 3 (Tuesday), the Minister said that 16 youths from Srikakulam district had been stranded in Saudi Arabia.
The government is working to bring back the youths who were allegedly deceived by agents. Through the APNRT (Andhra Pradesh Non-Resident Telugu) Department, the government has already initiated discussions with the Indian Embassy in Saudi Arabia. “As the district in-charge Minister, I have alerted the district Collector. We have instructed the Collector to consult with the senior officials of the Ministry of External Affairs on this matter,” Mr. Srinivas said.
The Minister assured the families of the victims not to worry. The NRI Empowerment Department is also in communication with Telugu associations in Saudi Arabia to ensure that the stranded youths are safe and that the Indian Embassy provides them with food. After discussing this issue with Union Minister Ram Mohan Naidu and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, the department has taken the necessary steps.
“We will bring the stranded youths back as soon as possible. We are also making efforts to improve the employment opportunities in the North Andhra districts. Under the NDA government, we will take planned steps to promote industrial development and enhance skill training for the youth in these districts,” the Minister added.
