Patriarch of Antioch and head of the universal Syrian Orthodox Church Ignatios Aphrem II arrived in Kochi on Saturday (December 7, 2024) to a warm reception by the faithful and state dignitories.
The Patriarch proceeded to the headquarters of the Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church where he will offer prayers at the tomb of Catholicos Baselios Thomas I.
The visiting Patriarch, who is a State guest, will offer the Mass at the Malekurisu Dayara on Sunday.
He will be in Kochi until December 17. He will also meet the Synod of the Jacobite Church during the stay.
