Three Sabarimala pilgrims from Tamil Nadu injured after being hit by car in Kerala

Three Tamil Nadu natives sustained severe injuries when a car rammed a group of Sabarimala pilgrims near the Pampavalley Bridge on the Erumely-Sabarimala route in Kerala on Monday (December 9, 2024).

The injured have been identified as Saravanan (37), Shankar (35), and Suresh (39), all hailing from Trichy district in Tamil Nadu.

The accident occurred around 8 a.m. when a car, returning from Sabarimala with another group of pilgrims, veered off the road and struck the men who were eating by the roadside.

According to the police, the driver lost control of the car while attempting to overtake a bus, colliding with the vehicle before swerving into the pilgrims.

The injured were rushed to the Government Medical College, Kottayam, where one of them remains in critical condition.
