The Israeli military officers reportedly met Syrian dignitaries and mayors in the occupied Golan Heights, Al Jazeera reported. According to the Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper, the IDF told Syrian officials that no harm would come to the residents and that their daily routine would continue fully. The fresh move came after Israeli defence minister Israel Katz ordered IDF troops to prepare for a longer stay in Syria.
