An Azerbaijan Airlines Embraer 190 plane crashed near Aktau, Kazakhstan, after being rerouted due to fog in Grozny, Russia. The aircraft, carrying 62 passengers and five crew, rapidly lost altitude and burst into flames after stalling during emergency landing attempts. Some survivors were rescued, with visuals showing ambulances and passengers deboarding through the rear exit. The crash occurred three kilometers from Aktau, an oil and gas hub on the Caspian Sea’s eastern shore, according to Azerbaijan Airlines and Kazakhstan’s Emergencies Ministry.
