Chhapra: The next stop of CM Nitish Kumar‘s Pragati Yatra will be Saran district on Wednesday, when he is expected to dedicate a Govt Medical College and Hospital in Chhapra, the renovated Mahmada pond, and volleyball, hand ball and badminton courts to the public.
Constructed at a cost of Rs 425 crore on a land given by Jai Prakash University authorities in Chhapra, the medical college has 100 MBBS seats. It will also offer BSc in nursing, having 60 seats.
The 500-bed hospital will cater to patients not only from Saran but the entire division, also comprising of Siwan and Gopalganj districts. It will also have a rest house facility for attendants.
Although the medical college has been constructed on the land of JP University, the administration has decided to provide a separate connectivity from NH-31 (old NH-19).
Besides, the CM will also release seeds of Carps in a pond in village Mahmada under Garkha block. The Mahmada pond will also be dedicated to the public.
Volleyball, hand ball and badminton courts will be dedicated to the public by the CM under Mukhyamantri Khel Vikas Yojana. The CM is also to visit Ekma in the district.
