Buxar: Authorities at Buxar Central Jail have started smart classes for the first time for prisoners who will be imparted education and training in several skills through audio-visual medium.
This is an initiative by the prison reforms department under the home ministry to empower the prisoners and help them get employment after their release, said Buxar Central Jail superintendent Gyanita Gaurav.
“We will give the prisoners an opportunity to complete their education and learn various skills. A favourable environment has been created in the smart classroom so that the prisoners can feel that they are involved in the learning process and not inside the jail,” she said.
