East Champaran DM to be awarded for best election management

Motihari: East Champaran DM Saurabh Jorwal will be given an award for best election management as a district election officer in the last Lok Sabha election on the National Voters’ Day (January 25) by President Droupadi Murmu in a function organised at the Manekshaw Centre auditorium in New Delhi.
Out of 11 district magistrates selected for this award in the country from nine states by the Election Commission of India, East Champaran DM Jorwal was the only one selected for the award from the state. This award will be given for contributions and excellence in better management, information technology initiatives, security management, and monitoring of booths through apps.
The East Champaran district has three parliamentary constituencies: East Champaran, parts of West Champaran, and Sheohar. Around 30,000 polling personnel were deployed at 3,498 booths on the day of the poll, where 2,000,000 voters exercised their franchise, and the election was conducted peacefully and fairly. DM East Champaran, Jorwal, was the returning officer of the Sheohar parliamentary constituency-cum-district election officer and monitored booths of all segments through a Google app.
