Delhi Election Results 2025 LIVE Updates: The BJP has outmatched Arvind Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in the fiercely fought Delhi assembly election and is set for a sweep. AAP’s crushing loss has been underlined by the defeat of its top leaders, including its chief Arvind Kejriwal and his deputy Manish Sisodia. The Congress has maintained its record of the past two elections in the capital, failing to win a single seat in the 70-member assembly.
Parvesh Sahib Singh, who defeated Arvind Kejriwal, has emerged as one of the BJP’s top faces in line for chief ministership. While Atishi has won from the Kalkaji constituency, former deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia conceded defeat in Jangpura.
Most exit polls had predicted a victory for the BJP and its allies. The Delhi Assembly elections saw a turnout of 60.54 per cent in the single-phase February 5 elections. Among the issues raked up by the BJP during poll campaign were the pollution in Yamuna river, liquor policy cases against Kejriwal and Sisodia and a large amount of expenditure on renovating Kejriwal’s chief ministerial residence during the Covid-19 pandemic.
