A devastating landslide struck Jinping Village in Junlian County, Sichuan Province, China, on Saturday, February 8, 2025, resulting in at least one fatality and leaving 28 individuals missing. Triggered by heavy rainfall, the landslide buried 10 houses and a manufacturing facility, leading to the evacuation of approximately 360 residents. Rescue teams, comprising nearly 1,000 personnel, are utilizing drones, life-detection radars, and local expertise in their search efforts. Continuous rainfall and the risk of additional landslides are complicating the operation.
