Aurangabad ranks 1st in state under ADP, gets Rs10cr grant

Aurangabad: Aurangabad district has secured the top position in Bihar under the Aspirational District Programme (ADP), according to the latest assessment by NITI Aayog. In recognition of this achievement, NITI Aayog has allocated an additional Rs 10 crore to the district. Following Aurangabad, Jamui, Banka and Purnia have also demonstrated commendable performance and will each receive an additional Rs 5 crore.
NITI Aayog CEO conveyed this progress to Bihar chief secretary, highlighting Aurangabad’s exceptional growth across multiple developmental parameters. As a result, NITI Aayog has recommended that Aurangabad’s district magistrate, Shrikant Shastri, be awarded a commendation and an improved service entry.
Under the ADP, districts are assessed based on their performance in health, nutrition, education, agriculture, infrastructure and financial inclusion. Aurangabad has consistently excelled in these areas, ensuring balanced and sustained development, which has earned the trust and appreciation of NITI Aayog.
DM Shastri expressed his gratitude to the people of Aurangabad, the district administration and local representatives for their collective efforts. “This achievement is a result of the participation and hard work of every citizen in the district. With the continued cooperation of the administration and the public, we will achieve even greater milestones,” he said.
The additional Rs 10 crore allocation is expected to accelerate developmental projects in the district, particularly in healthcare, education, agriculture and infrastructure. This top ranking under the ADP also increases Aurangabad’s prospects of receiving further central govt schemes and support in the future.
