Govt proposes new high-speed corridor to connect north & south Bihar

Patna: Bihar govt has proposed a new high-speed corridor, ‘Narayani-Ganga Corridor‘, to improve connectivity between the northern and southern parts of the state.
Deputy CM and road construction minister, Vijay Kumar Sinha, said on Monday that the proposal will be sent to the central govt for approval. The corridor will connect Bagaha to Patar in Ara district, covering a distance of approximately 150 km. The project includes construction of a new bridge over the Gandak river connecting Bhojpur, Saran, Siwan, Gopalganj and West Champaran districts.
Sinha said, “The proposed corridor will ensure connectivity from Bagaha (NH-727A) to Patar in Bhojpur. In Patar, the corridor will connect with the Patna-Ara-Sasaram high-speed corridor (NH-119A).”
Sinha said at present there is heavy traffic on the Ganga bridge between Ara and Chhapra. Therefore, the construction of another bridge over the Ganga river at Revelganj is also being considered.
