Patna: A man, alleging inaction by the police in a cellphone snatching case, threatened to take his life at the Shastri Nagar police station in the state capital on Monday.
Shashikant Pathak, claimed that his three cellphones were snatched by the miscreants on Oct 7, 2024, and despite filing a complaint, no action was taken by the police.
He claimed that a few days after losing his cellphone, he was fired from his job, which left him stressed. He alleged that despite visiting the police station for about four months no action has been taken by the cops.
The police asked him to return home after giving him assurance that action will be taken in the case.
Pathak alleged that on Oct 7, 2024, unidentified miscreants snatched his three cellphones from an auto-rickshaw near Gola Road and fled. “I filed a written complaint at the Gandhi Maidan, and a copy of the application was sent to Shastri Nagar police station, where the complaint was then registered,” he told the reporters.
Shastri Nagar SHO, Amar Kumar, said that the complainant was not mentally fit. His father and mother died some years ago. He was working in a jewellery shop in the state capital but was fired from there due to his poor mental condition.
