Sasaram: A six-year-old girl was allegedly raped and her younger brother was sodomised in a village in Rohtas district on Wednesday, police said on Saturday. The alleged perpetrator was a 24-year-old neighbour of the children. The children’s mother filed an FIR at the local police station on Friday. After the case was registered against two people, police arrested the main accused. The children were sent to Sasaram Sadar Hospital for medical examination. Bikramganj SDPO Sanjay Kumar said police were conducting raids to arrest a second suspect, who is accused of threatening the mother against reporting the crime. The accused allegedly took advantage of the children being alone in the house. After the mother returned and found what had happened, she went to the accused’s home, where she was allegedly threatened by the accused and a close relative with dire consequences if she lodged an FIR. She eventually went to the police station on Friday to report the crime.
