Unidentified body with facial wounds found

Patna: The body of a 30-year-old man was recovered in the Mehandiganj police station area in Patna district on Monday. The police were informed about the incident by local residents and immediately rushed to the spot. The identity of the deceased is not known. The body was sent for post-mortem at NMCH, police said.
According to the police, the deceased had a deep wound on his face and head, which appears to be the reason behind his death. However, the post-mortem report is awaited to determine the real cause of death.
“The identity of the deceased has not been ascertained yet, but he had a tattoo of the name ‘Santosh’ on one of his hands. The police have sent the body for post-mortem examination to the Nalanda Medical College Hospital. The police are searching for clues and evidence at the crime scene using metal detectors and are also examining CCTV footage from the area,” Mehandiganj SHO Arvind Kumar said.
