Railways enhances security for Kumbh devotees

Patna: The Danapur division of East Central Railway (ECR) is actively collaborating with the railway authorities in Prayagraj, Varanasi and DDU to monitor and regulate the flow of devotees returning from the recent holy dip at Prayagraj, ensuring smooth crowd management on trains headed towards Patna and other stations in the region.
According to the Danapur divisional railway manager Jayant Kumar Choudhary, as thousands of devotees are on their way back after participating in the Kumbh Mela, the officials have been in constant touch with their railway counterparts in Prayagraj to assess and manage the crowd. “The coordination aims to prevent overcrowding and ensure safe and efficient travel for the masses heading back to Bihar and neighbouring areas,” he said.
In an inspiring show of devotion, many of the returning devotees have been observed sprinkling ‘Ganga jal’ on the railway staff at Danapur station, offering blessings of Maa Ganga as a gesture of gratitude.
Danapur senior divisional commercial manager Abhinav Sidharth said officials at Patna Junction and Danapur station are on duty to ensure special arrangements are in place to handle the large number of passengers, including increased train services and enhanced safety measures. “This proactive approach is aimed to ensure a safe and comfortable return journey for the devotees,” he said, adding that the railway authorities have urged passengers to follow all safety protocols during their return journey and cooperate with the railway staff on duty.
