Aurangabad: An arrested person died while undergoing treatment on Monday in Aurangabad police custody. The deceased was arrested on Sunday in connection with a murder case. SP, Ambreesh Rahul, said a body was recovered on Feb 22 in the Nabinagar police station area. During the investigation, it was found that two people, including Pramod Sao, a resident of Laxmipur village, were allegedly involved in the murder. Both suspects were arrested on Sunday evening and brought to Nabinagar police station. He said, on Monday morning, Pramod suddenly fell ill. He was immediately rushed to the hospital, where he succumbed during treatment. The SP said a postmortem is being conducted to ascertain the cause of death. It is noteworthy that this is the second custodial death reported in the district within the past month. The incident has raised concerns regarding the treatment of detainees in police custody. Further investigations into the matter are underway.
