Kurnool district Differently-abled and Senior Citizens Welfare Department has cautioned the differently-abled people not to get deceived by fraudsters who are making calls to them promising tri-cycles and other benefits from the government.
Differently-abled and senior citizens Welfare Department Assistant Director Rayees Fathima said it came to their notice that some people are making calls on the names of senior officials and duping the beneficiaries claiming that tri-cycles, laptop and other benefits have been sanctioned to them.
The fraudsters were sending photos of distribution of tri-cycles to some beneficiaries and winning the confidence of the beneficiaries and are asking them to deposit money through Phonepay.
“The fraudsters are calling from mobile phone numbers 9642076467, 6364506562, 6300090356 and other numbers and are introducing themselves as Fathima,” the additional director said. She asked people not to believe in such calls and lose their money. She asked those who wanted tri-cycles or any other related equipment to call the Department office on phone number 08518-277864.
