Andhra Pradesh Congress Professionals’ Head Valluru Bharga on Sunday (March 9, 2025) said it was important that the Centre clearly explained to the people of different regions the benefits of its proposed delimitation exercise and the three-language policy.
“In a statement, he said these regions contributed significantly to the country’s progress and could not afford to lose their importance,” he argued.
Mr. Bhargav said the economic strength of the southern states was on the decline, and the State was forced to rely on the Centre for allocation of development funds.
Stating that the BJP had a very strong hold on the State of Andhra Pradesh, he said the ruling party at the Centre was trying to ‘saffronise’ the entire nation by implementing its unilateral decisions.
He said people in the State were upset because of the denial of the Special Category Status or financial help that was promised to them when the State was split.
The Congress leader said Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu was unfortunately caught up in party politics instead of focusing on securing what was best for the State. He said Mr. Naidu should set his priorities right before people lose faith in him, just like they did in the previous YSR Congress Party Government.
