Patna: Unidentified criminals shot dead a property dealer in Sadar police station area of Muzaffarpur district late Tuesday night. The deceased was identified as Ramkishore Choudhary alias Tun Tun Choudhary (50), a resident of Patahi village ward no. 3 under Sadar police station area.
Choudhary was riding his motorcycle from Yadav Nagar Chowk to his home when criminals opened fire on him. Police said an old enmity appears to be the motive behind the killing.
Cops said the incident took place when Choudhary was returning home on his bike. On the way, he stopped near Yadav Nagar Gate to have a ‘paan’ and then continued towards his home in Patahi village. Near the Patahi Shiva temple, some criminals signalled him to stop. He halted his bike, and a dispute arose between them. As Choudhary tried to move ahead on his bike, the criminals drew a pistol and shot him from behind. Consequently, he fell unconscious on the ground.
Upon hearing the gunshot, locals gathered there and informed the police. Sadar police, led by the station house officer (SHO), reached the spot and sent the injured to the Sadar hospital, where he was declared dead by the doctors.
Town SDPO-II, Vinita Sinha, said: “Preliminary investigations revealed that two assailants were involved in the murder. He was shot in his back. The murder appears to have taken place due to some old enmity. An FSL team has collected samples from the crime spot. CCTV footage of surrounding areas is being checked. In 2022, some unidentified criminals had shot at Choudhary and injured him.”
In Nov 2024, his daughter-in-law had died by suicide, and he was an accused in that case. He was currently on bail. He was involved in property dealing, she said.
“Choudhary is survived by two sons and a wife. One of his sons is a banker in Delhi, while another is in the same profession in Biharsharif. He was living with his wife and elderly parents in Muzaffarpur. We are thoroughly investigating all aspects, and the accused will be arrested soon,” the SDPO added.
