LIVE | US Accidentally Texted Houthi War Plan To Journalist? Pete Hegseth’s Response Stuns All

Top Trump administration officials accidentally leaked U.S. war plans in a messaging group that included a journalist, just before launching attacks on Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthis, the White House confirmed Monday.

Democratic lawmakers slammed the security breach, calling it a serious national security failure that must be investigated by Congress. According to The Atlantic, its editor-in-chief Jeffrey Goldberg was unexpectedly added to an encrypted Signal chat called "Houthi PC small group" on March 13, where National Security Adviser Mike Waltz directed his deputy Alex Wong to form a "tiger team" to coordinate U.S. military action.

A National Security Council spokesperson acknowledged the chat group’s authenticity. U.S. President Donald Trump launched an ongoing campaign of large-scale military strikes against Yemen’s Houthis on March 15 over the group’s attacks against Red Sea shipping, and he warned Iran, the Houthis’ main backer, that it needed to immediately halt support for the group.
