South Korea has launched an all-out national response to battle deadly wildfires sweeping through the southeastern region, Acting President Han Duck-soo announced on Wednesday. Declaring the highest-level wildfire crisis alert, Han stated, “This is a full-scale national response.” The fires, which erupted over the weekend, have claimed at least 18 lives, razed villages, and destroyed a historic temple.
