Traffic diversion in city for Ram Navami

Patna: To ensure the smooth passage of the ‘Shobha Yatra’ the police implemented a traffic plan across the city on the eve of Ram Navami by prohibiting private and passenger vehicles from going on different routes. The traffic restrictions will be effective until 11pm on April 6, excluding fire engines, ambulances, patient or deceased transport vehicles and other essential vehicles.
Patna traffic SP Aprajit Lohan said control arrangements have been made for devotees visiting Mahavir Temple near Patna Junction on Saturday and Sunday. “Devotees carrying offerings will enter through the western gate of Veer Kunwar Singh Park (near R-Block) and proceed in a queue through the park and GPO roundabout to reach Mahavir Temple. They will exit from Dak Bungalow Road after their visit,” he said.
As per the traffic plan, vehicular movement will be restricted from R-Block towards GPO and Patna Junction. Entry of all vehicles near Mahavir Temple and up to Veena Cinema road and east of Patna Junction roundabout will be prohibited. Vehicles coming to Patna Junction from Goriya Toli and Karbigahiya will take a U-turn from Jamal Road (south flank).
Vehicle operation will be restricted between Dak Bungalow crossing and Patna Junction. Vehicles coming to Patna Junction via Dak Bungalow can go up to Goriya Toli via Exhibition Road and take a U-turn from Jamal Road (south).
Considering metro construction, processions from J P Roundabout to Dak Bungalow crossing will proceed via Swaminath T-junction, S P Verma Road and New Dak Bungalow Road to reach their destination.
The traffic police issued an advisory that passengers heading to Patna Junction should use the entrance on the Karbigahiya side as much as possible. No vehicle operations will be allowed under the flyover on Budh Marg. Travellers can use the GPO ROB to reach their destinations. Devotees will not be allowed to queue to the temple from the Budh Marg side. The western edge of Veer Kunwar Singh Park can be used for the selling of offerings, flowers, garlands and other puja materials.
Traffic on Adalatganj Road will be one-way from east to west. Vehicle entry from Beerchand Patel Path to Adalatganj Road will be prohibited. Travellers heading towards Patna Junction can proceed from Kotwali Police Station via Budh Marg and use the GPO ROB to reach Patna Junction from the Karbigahiya side.
Parking for vehicles of devotees carrying offerings will be arranged at the grounds of Miller High School on Beerchand Patel Path, premises of the Bihar State Road Transport Corporation Limited office, flank of Beerchand Patel Path and Maurya Lok Complex (VIP Parking).
