Two members of inter-district criminal gang nabbed in Saran

Chhapra: Police on Saturday arrested four members of an inter-district gang of criminals, who were involved in several loot cases near Harpur Faridan under Town and Taraiya police stations in Saran district. The police also seized looted items and arms used in these loots.
Saran SSP Kumar Ashish said that Taraiya police received information on Friday that some miscreants were waiting in a car to commit a crime. Acting on the tip-off, the police conducted a raid in the area and arrested four of the miscreants with a stolen car and arms. “We registered a case in Taraiya police station under relevant acts of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Arms Act,” the SSP said.
According to the police official, during interrogation, the miscreants confessed that they are members of an inter-district gang of criminals, who loot cars, bikes and cellphones. On their revelation, the police recovered one bike and a cellphone on March 30, and a case was registered in Taraiya police station in this connection. In another development, the police recovered one stolen bike for which a case was lodged in Chhapra Town police station on May 17, 2024.
The arrested miscreants have been identified as Vikas Kumar of Shahwajpur and Akash Kumar of Bhorhan under Panapur police station in Saran district; Ujjwal Kumar, a resident of Sital Patti under Taraiya police station and Sandeep Kumar, a resident of Bagahar under Basantpur police station in Siwan district. Police said both Vikas and Akash have criminal history.
