  • Live | Iran’s Nuclear Bomb Almost Ready? | After Trump, Grossi’s Warning Fuels Fears of War With US?

During his recent Oval Office meeting with El Salvador’s President Nayib Bukele, President Donald Trump addressed concerns regarding Iran’s nuclear ambitions. He emphasized that Iran is approaching the capability to develop a nuclear weapon and reiterated that the United States would not permit this. Trump stated, "They cannot have a nuclear weapon… if we have to do something very harsh, we’ll do it," indicating that military action remains a possibility.

Iran is not far from having an atomic bomb, the head of the UN nuclear watchdog was quoted as saying in a Le Monde interview published Wednesday, just hours before a visit to Tehran.

International Atomic Energy Agency head Rafael Grossi said Iran still had a way to go before getting the bomb, but added: "They’re not far from it, you have to acknowledge."

Grossi likened the development of a nuclear weapon to a jigsaw puzzle, adding that Iran "has the pieces and they could eventually put them together one day".

  • ZF Group Secures Major Electric Axle Deal in India with Leading CV OEM

ZF Group Secures Major Electric Axle Deal in India with Leading CV OEM

ZF Commercial Vehicle Solutions (CVS), a division of the global ZF Group, has secured a significant multi-year contract with a major Indian commercial vehicle (CV) manufacturer, ZF group announced today. The deal involves the supply of several thousand units of ZF’s AxTrax 2 electric axle, marking a notable step in the adoption of electric mobility in India’s intercity bus segment.

AxTrax 2 is ZF’s next-generation integrated electric axle designed for medium-duty buses. It replaces the traditional engine, transmission, and axle configuration, combining all components into a single, modular unit. This solution is part of ZF’s broader e-mobility platform and supports the shift towards cleaner transport options.

The axle is developed using ZF’s in-house expertise in powertrain and e-mobility systems. Its compact structure helps reduce vehicle weight and optimize space, providing commercial vehicle manufacturers with flexibility in platform design.

According to ZF Group India President Akash Passey, the contract reflects the company’s consistent engagement with India’s CV sector and its focus on safety, efficiency, and mobility technologies. “This business nomination highlights our role in supporting the evolving needs of our OEM partners,” Passey said.

    P. Kaniappan, Senior Vice President of ZF’s CVS Division in India, added, “AxTrax 2 is a step forward in our approach to market readiness and e-mobility leadership in India.”

ZF is currently the leading supplier of driveline and transmission systems in the country. The company’s offerings cover key domains such as electric mobility, automated driving, and digitalization. Through partnerships with local OEMs, ZF aims to enhance the full lifecycle of commercial vehicles, aligning with India’s broader goals for sustainable transportation.

India’s commercial vehicle industry is undergoing a transition, driven by stricter emission norms, government incentives, and the need to reduce operating costs. The Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Electric Vehicles (FAME) scheme, along with state-level policies, has encouraged OEMs to explore electric alternatives, especially for public transport and logistics. Intercity and intracity buses have become early adopters in the electric segment due to defined routes and predictable usage patterns.

  • ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India Gears Up for Green Steel Taxonomy Implementation

ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India Gears Up for Green Steel Taxonomy Implementation

ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India (AM/NS India) has announced its preparedness for the upcoming Green Steel Taxonomy introduced by the Ministry of Steel, which is expected to be implemented in the financial year 2026–27. The company’s current manufacturing practices and sustainability initiatives place it in a position to deliver a significant share of its production as ‘green steel’ under the new classification system.

The Green Steel Taxonomy, released in December 2024, outlines a framework to define low-carbon steel based on carbon emissions intensity. Steel produced with emissions below 2.2 tonnes of CO₂ equivalent (tCO₂e) per tonne of finished steel will qualify for a green rating, categorised into three-star, four-star, or five-star levels. Steel exceeding this emissions threshold will not qualify for green certification.

AM/NS India is aiming to be the first integrated steel manufacturer in the country to achieve a three-star rating. The company reported a CO₂ intensity of 2.17 tCO₂ per tonne of crude steel for FY 2023, 14 percent lower than the national average. It plans to reduce its carbon emissions intensity to 1.8 tCO₂/tcs by 2030, based on a 2021 baseline, representing a 20 percent reduction. Since 2015, AM/NS India has already achieved a 35 percent cut in carbon intensity.

A significant portion—65 percent—of AM/NS India’s steel production currently comes from the Direct Reduced Iron (DRI) route, which uses natural gas and has a relatively low carbon footprint. The company’s expansion projects are also being developed with advanced technologies focused on further reducing emissions.

Speaking at the time of the taxonomy’s launch, Steel Secretary Sandeep Poundrik stated that the adoption of the framework is mandatory and aims to bring down emission intensity to 2.2 tCO₂ per tonne by 2030, which would enhance global competitiveness.

To support its transition towards sustainable steel production, AM/NS India is implementing several initiatives. A renewable hybrid energy project by AM Green Energy in Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh, will supply electricity to the company’s flagship plant in Hazira, Gujarat, through a co-located pumped hydro storage facility. This is expected to offer both environmental and operational benefits.

The company has also commissioned a scrap processing unit in Khopoli, Maharashtra, with three more centres in development. These facilities are expected to increase the use of recycled materials in steelmaking, thereby reducing emissions. In addition, AM/NS India is adopting digital technologies and machine learning to enhance operational efficiency and reduce resource consumption.

AM/NS India produces a range of green and specialised steel products aimed at meeting global standards and promoting a sustainable value chain. It is currently considered among the lowest carbon-intensive steel producers in the country.

ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India is a joint venture between ArcelorMittal and Nippon Steel. The company operates as an integrated flat carbon steel producer with an annual crude steel capacity of 9 million tonnes and a pellet production capacity of 20 million tonnes. It manufactures a wide portfolio of flat steel products, including value-added steel, supported by advanced downstream facilities.

  • JD Vance to visit India: Decoding the US Vice President’s deep desi connection

JD Vance and Usha Vance (AP photo)

Vice President JD Vance’s upcoming trip to India may be billed in Washington as another high-level diplomatic tour—strengthening economic ties, exploring strategic partnerships, and affirming the US-India bond in an age of global flux. But for many Indians, especially the Telugu-speaking community, this visit carries a deeper emotional significance.
Because JD Vance is not just America’s Vice President. He’s also a Telugu damaad—India’s son-in-law.
And in India, that’s not just a sentimental detail. It’s a cultural status.

A Telugu Bond, Rooted in Family

JD Vance is married to Usha Chilukuri Vance, a Yale Law graduate and accomplished attorney whose family hails from Andhra Pradesh. Fluent in Telugu and deeply connected to her cultural heritage, Usha is one of the most prominent Indian-American women in conservative legal circles. She’s also been a transformative influence in JD’s life—not just personally, but spiritually.
For many Telugu families across India and the diaspora, the Vice President’s visit feels personal. He is family, by marriage and by sentiment. In a culture where familial relationships often eclipse formal titles, the idea that the second-most powerful man in America is married into a Telugu household brings with it a rare warmth—and a unique kind of pride.

From Atheism to Faith: A Journey Through Hinduism

When JD Vance arrived at Yale Law School, he was a self-described atheist. Raised in a working-class Christian home in Middletown, Ohio, he had long drifted from faith—his worldview shaped more by hardship than hope. But meeting Usha changed that.
Usha’s upbringing in a devout Hindu household introduced JD to a kind of spirituality he hadn’t previously encountered. Her daily rituals, emphasis on introspection, and deep respect for dharma (moral duty) began to shape his thinking. Hinduism’s focus on inner discipline, service, and balance resonated with a man who had spent much of his youth searching for meaning amid chaos.
Over time, Usha’s quiet influence helped JD reframe his understanding of faith—not as dogma, but as a personal path toward resilience and purpose. The transformation was gradual. But by 2018, JD Vance had returned to Christianity, formally converting to Catholicism. He has since described his renewed faith as foundational to his identity and political worldview. And while he returned to church, the spiritual shift began in a home that lit oil lamps during Diwali and chanted Sanskrit shlokas during prayer.
It was Hinduism that opened the door to his rediscovery of Christianity.

    A Marriage of Worlds

When JD and Usha married in 2014, their wedding included both Hindu and Christian elements—symbolising not just cultural harmony, but spiritual openness. It was a quiet but powerful statement: that interfaith and intercultural marriages can be deeply respectful, even transformative.
For JD, the union marked more than the beginning of a family—it marked a new moral compass. Usha’s influence helped anchor his public life in a sense of service, community, and humility. Hindu values such as seva (selfless service) and karma yoga (duty without attachment to reward) have subtly shaped his approach to politics—especially his focus on rural America, working-class dignity, and economic justice.

    A Soft Power Moment

As Vance visits India—accompanied by his wife and children—the trip will inevitably be filled with state meetings, bilateral statements, and tightly scheduled photo-ops. But the undercurrent of the visit will be far more human. In Delhi, Jaipur, and Agra, the cultural engagements—visiting historic sites, participating in traditional ceremonies, and meeting Indian families—will allow the Second Family to connect not just as officials, but as relatives.
In India, the son-in-law occupies a cherished role. He is pampered, praised, and presented with the best the family can offer. For many, Vance’s visit will be seen not as a state function, but as a homecoming of sorts. And the fact that he has celebrated Hindu festivals, participated in pujas, and honoured Telugu traditions in his own home lends authenticity to that image.
This isn’t political theatre—it’s lived reality.

    A Broader Symbol

Beyond the symbolism, Vance’s journey also reflects a changing America—one where the Vice President can be Catholic, raised by a single mother in working-class Ohio, and yet deeply connected to Indian culture through marriage. It’s a quiet but powerful reflection of pluralism: a nation not built on sameness, but on the ability to hold difference with dignity.
Usha’s role in this story is central. She has not only influenced JD’s personal faith journey but also brought her Telugu heritage into the heart of American political life. Her presence in the White House—rooted in both Hindu values and American legal excellence—adds a rare texture to global diplomacy. She is fluent in the culture and nuance of two worlds, and that makes her more than just a First Lady-in-waiting. She is, in many ways, a bridge.

    The Damaad Returns

In the days ahead, Indian media will no doubt delight in covering every detail of the Second Family’s tour: the temples, the outfits, the bilingual greetings, the smiles exchanged with schoolchildren. But beneath the coverage lies something deeper—a sense that this visit is not just a matter of statecraft, but of shared spirit.
Because when JD Vance steps onto Indian soil, he will be met not just as Vice President of the United States, but as a Telugu damaad—a man who, through love, learning, and faith, has found a second home in a culture far from his own.
And in a world fractured by difference, that quiet intimacy might just be the strongest diplomatic message of all.

  • Canada Election 2025: How ‘Bogeyman’ Trump could decide the election

Canada Election 2025: How ‘Bogeyman’ Trump could decide the election

In an increasingly polarised Canadian election landscape, it’s not policy but psychology that appears to be shaping voter behaviour. A new National Post poll released on April 16 paints a striking emotional divide: 75% of Conservative voters say they are motivated by hope—for economic revival, lower taxes, and political change—while 60% of Liberal supporters cite fear as their primary motivator, particularly in the face of Donald Trump’s threats to Canada’s sovereignty and trade.
This fear-versus-hope narrative is playing out at the highest levels of leadership, with unelected Liberal leader Mark Carney doubling down on warnings of a Trump-dominated North America, while Conservative challenger Pierre Poilievre pitches a vision of renewal and national pride.

Carney’s Fear Gambit: Trump as the Bogeyman

    Trump the Bogeyman

Since assuming leadership of the Liberal Party in March 2025 with an overwhelming 85.9% internal vote, Mark Carney has made one thing clear: the road to victory in Canada may now pass through Washington. His campaign speeches are peppered with grim warnings about Donald Trump’s second-term agenda—from threats to tear up the USMCA to rhetoric about turning Canada into the “51st state.”
In provinces like Quebec, the fear message is sticking. Forty-four percent of Quebecois voters cited fear as their primary emotional driver in this election, compared to 40% who said hope. The difference, though narrow, reflects Carney’s deliberate strategy of positioning himself as the last firewall between Canadian sovereignty and American encroachment.
“Carney is treating this election like a referendum on Canada’s independence,” says political analyst Léa Moreau. “By invoking Trump, he’s hoping to consolidate the centrist and progressive vote—especially in urban strongholds like Montreal and Toronto.”
Yet critics argue that Carney’s campaign feels more like a crisis management seminar than a national vision. Despite leading the Liberals to 43% in the polls, his advantage is thinning, with Conservatives closing the gap to 38%—a 1% bump from the previous week.

Poilievre’s Hope Offensive: The Optimism Strategy

    Canada Election 2025

By contrast, Pierre Poilievre is running what might be Canada’s most emotionally upbeat campaign in a generation. His message? Lower taxes, safer streets, and a government that “trusts Canadians more than it taxes them.” But above all, hope.
According to the National Post poll, 75% of Conservative voters identify hope as their main motivation—a number that dwarfs anything seen in recent Canadian elections.
“The Liberal Party wants you to be afraid,” Poilievre told a crowd in Vaughan last week. “Afraid of Trump, afraid of change, afraid of freedom. But I believe Canada can do better. I believe you can do better.”
His team’s messaging, particularly in key Ontario battlegrounds such as the GTA, London, and Hamilton, is heavily focused on economic empowerment and optimism. Campaign visuals feature smiling families, busy construction sites, and maple leaf-emblazoned dreams of prosperity.
It’s working—at least for now. The Conservatives’ steady rise in the polls is particularly pronounced among suburban middle-class voters, many of whom feel squeezed by rising mortgage rates and stagnant wages. For them, Carney’s apocalyptic tone may feel out of touch.

The US Factor: Trump in the Rearview and Windshield

The elephant—or rather, the eagle—in the room remains Donald Trump. His re-election in 2024 has cast a long shadow across Canadian politics. From threatening retaliatory tariffs to casually suggesting a “continental merger,” Trump has offered Carney a convenient villain and Poilievre a complex challenge.
In a political inversion of the usual Canadian-American dynamic, it is the centre-left that is leaning into nationalism, while the right talks about cross-border cooperation.
Carney, with his background as Governor of the Bank of Canada and later the Bank of England, is no populist—but he’s increasingly deploying nationalist tropes in defence of liberal democracy.
Poilievre, meanwhile, must walk a tightrope: appearing patriotic while not antagonising Trump, whose unpredictability could rattle markets and derail any future Conservative trade strategy.
“It’s a bizarre role reversal,” says University of Toronto professor Althea Gagnon. “Liberals waving the flag and invoking sovereignty, while Conservatives pitch economic pragmatism. It’s 1984—but in reverse.”

What to Watch: Ontario’s Emotional Centre

With Quebec and Alberta largely spoken for, the emotional battleground lies in Ontario. The Greater Toronto Area, with its mix of immigrant communities, swing ridings, and economic anxieties, will likely decide the election.
Here, the emotional split mirrors the national average: hope vs fear, optimism vs anxiety. The question is, which feeling will get people to the ballot box?
So far, Carney’s fear appeal seems to be mobilising older voters and die-hard Liberal supporters. But Poilievre’s message is proving surprisingly resonant among younger, first-time voters looking for change, especially those burdened by debt and disillusionment.

Final Word: A Battle of Feelings, Not Facts

In a country known for moderation and policy debates, Canada’s 2025 election is shaping up to be a referendum on emotion. Carney is betting that fear of a Trump-dominated future will carry the Liberals across the finish line. Poilievre is hoping optimism—and a touch of righteous anger—will propel his Conservatives to power. As Canadians head toward the polls later this year, one thing is clear: this election is less about policy platforms and more about how each side feels about the future. And in a political age increasingly driven by vibes, not vision, feelings might just be the only currency that matters.

  • Why Marxist and pro-Palestine Cody Balmer burned down Jewish Governor Josh Shapiro’s house

Why Marxist and pro-Palestine Cody Balmer burned down Jewish Governor Josh Shapiro’s house

Cody Balmer, a 38-year-old Pennsylvania resident and self-described Marxist, is facing charges of arson, attempted murder, and terrorism after allegedly attacking the official residence of Governor Josh Shapiro on the evening of April 13, 2025. The incident, which unfolded during Passover, has sent shockwaves through political circles, raising questions about ideological radicalisation, anti-Semitism, and the increasingly volatile nature of political dissent in the United States.
According to police affidavits and Balmer’s own statements, the attack was politically and religiously motivated. Investigators say Balmer targeted Shapiro specifically because of his Jewish faith and vocal support for Israel—positions that have made the Democratic governor a lightning rod for criticism from segments of the pro-Palestinian left.

    An attack fuelled by ideology

Balmer’s actions on the night of April 13 were both premeditated and symbolic. He reportedly scaled a fence surrounding the Pennsylvania governor’s mansion, broke windows using a hammer, and threw multiple Molotov cocktails—improvised incendiary devices made from gasoline-filled Heineken bottles. The explosive devices caused minor fires, which were quickly extinguished. No injuries were reported, but the damage was significant enough to trigger federal terrorism charges.
A subsequent search of Balmer’s residence uncovered paraphernalia linking him to far-left revolutionary movements. Among the items found were posters of Che Guevara, a bust of Karl Marx, and literature advocating armed struggle against capitalist and “Zionist” institutions.
In interviews with law enforcement, Balmer reportedly described his actions as “an act of resistance” against “imperialist genocide” and condemned Shapiro for “legitimising apartheid policies” through his support of anti-BDS (Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions) laws in Pennsylvania.

Che Guevara, Marxism, and radical inspiration

A charred piano, left, is visible inside the Pennsylvania governor’s official residence after a man was arrested in the alleged arson that forced Gov. Balmer’s admiration for Che Guevara is central to understanding his ideological framework. Guevara, the Argentine revolutionary who played a key role in Fidel Castro’s Cuban revolution, has long been a symbol of Marxist militancy and anti-imperialism. Guevara’s writings advocated for the “creation of two, three, many Vietnams” as a strategy to weaken American global power—a vision that appears to have inspired Balmer’s interpretation of domestic resistance.
However, while Guevara operated within the framework of a Cold War-era guerrilla movement, Balmer’s actions appear more rooted in a modern American context shaped by online radicalisation, social media echo chambers, and escalating culture wars over Israel-Palestine.
Unlike Fidel Castro—who transitioned from revolutionary to head of state—Guevara remained a romantic figure of rebellion, often detached from the mundane realities of governance. Balmer’s attack suggests he aligns more with Guevara’s revolutionary purism than Castro’s political pragmatism.

    Targeting Josh Shapiro

Governor Josh Shapiro, a rising star in Democratic politics and Pennsylvania’s first Jewish governor, has maintained a pro-Israel stance throughout his career. Under his leadership, the state has strengthened laws that penalise businesses engaging in BDS, a move applauded by pro-Israel advocates but heavily criticised by left-wing and pro-Palestinian groups who view such measures as violations of free speech.
Shapiro has also been outspoken in condemning antisemitism and has called for stronger US-Israel ties amid ongoing conflict in the Middle East. In recent months, these views have made him a target of increasingly hostile rhetoric in online spaces aligned with both the far-right and far-left.
In a statement following the attack, Shapiro said: “Hate, in any form, has no place in Pennsylvania. This was an attack not just on my family, but on our values as a state that welcomes people of all backgrounds.”

    Domestic terrorism or lone-wolf extremism?

Authorities are treating the incident as a case of domestic terrorism, noting that Balmer’s ideological motivations and methods echo other politically charged attacks in recent years. However, it remains unclear whether he was acting alone or had ties to any organised group.
Balmer, who has no prior criminal record, had been active in local protest circles but was not known to law enforcement as a high-risk individual. His social media accounts, now deactivated, reportedly contained a mix of Marxist theory, pro-Palestinian activism, and increasingly militant rhetoric.
The case is drawing comparisons to other lone-wolf attacks rooted in ideological radicalisation—whether Islamist, white nationalist, or far-left revolutionary. The key distinction in Balmer’s case, investigators say, is that his motivations were an explicit mix of class struggle, anti-Zionism, and symbolic revolutionary violence.

The broader backdrop: Israel-Palestine tensions at home

The attack comes at a time when American campuses and statehouses are engulfed in renewed debate over Israel’s actions in Gaza and the West Bank. Pro-Palestinian protests have surged in response to Israeli military operations, while Jewish institutions have reported a spike in antisemitic threats and attacks.
Balmer’s act appears to be a tragic flashpoint in this escalating discourse—where political disagreement is increasingly expressed through confrontation, vandalism, and in rare cases, violence.
Experts warn that while most activists operate within peaceful, democratic frameworks, isolated individuals who embrace extremism can act out violently if left unchecked.
As Balmer awaits trial, the case will likely become a lightning rod for both sides of the debate: a cautionary tale for law enforcement, a political flashpoint for free speech activists, and a grim reminder of how ideology can morph into violence when pushed to its extremes.

  • Waqf case: Will you allow Muslims to be part of Hindu trusts, SC asks Centre

NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Wednesday asked the Centre whether Muslims would now be allowed to be part of Hindu religious trusts, as it heard a batch of petitions challenging the constitutional validity of the Waqf (Amendment) Act, 2025.
A bench comprising Chief Justice Sanjiv Khanna and Justices Sanjay Kumar and K V Viswanathan raised several questions on the Act, particularly about the practice of “waqf by user“, where a property is considered waqf based on long-standing religious or charitable use, even without formal documentation.
“How will you register such waqfs by user? What documents will they have? It will lead to undoing something. Yes, there is some misuse. But there are genuine ones also. I have gone through privy council judgments also. Waqf by user is recognised. If you undo it then it will be a problem,” the bench said.

    Poll

Should the government have the authority to determine the eligibility of individuals to create waqf?

Appearing for the Centre, solicitor general Tushar Mehta said a large section of Muslims did not want to be governed by the Waqf Act. This led the bench to ask, “Are you saying that from now on you will allow Muslims to be part of the Hindu endowment boards. Say it openly.”
The court observed that properties declared waqf a century ago could not be arbitrarily reclassified. “Legislature cannot declare a judgment, order or decree as void. You can only take the basis,” it noted.
Chief Justice Khanna said the court would consider whether the matter should be heard by the Supreme Court or referred to a high court. He also asked both sides to clearly spell out the core legal issues they wished to raise.
“There are two aspects we want to ask both the sides to address. Firstly, whether we should entertain or relegate it to the high court? Secondly, point out in brief what you are really urging and wanting to argue?” We are not saying there is any bar on SC in hearing, deciding pleas against the law,” the CJI said.
Senior advocate Kapil Sibal, representing the petitioners, argued that the provision allowing only Muslims to create waqf was unconstitutional. “How can state decide whether, and how I am a Muslim or not and hence, eligible to create waqf?” Sibal asked.
He added, “How can government say only those who are practising Islam for last five years can create waqf?”
Senior advocate Abhishek Singhvi, also representing petitioners, said the Act had nationwide implications and should not be transferred to any high court. Senior advocate Huzefa Ahmadi added that “waqf by user” was a long-standing Islamic practice and could not be dismissed.
The Waqf (Amendment) Act, 2025, received presidential assent on April 5 after being passed in both houses of Parliament amid heated debates. In the Rajya Sabha, 128 members supported the bill while 95 opposed it. In the Lok Sabha, the bill was passed with 288 votes in favour and 232 against.
A total of 72 petitions have been filed challenging the Act, including those by AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi, All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB), Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind, DMK, and Congress MPs Imran Pratapgarhi and Mohammad Jawed.
The Centre has filed a caveat in the apex court seeking a hearing before any interim order is passed.

NEW DELHI: US Vice President JD Vance to visit Italy and India from April 18 and April 24 along with his family, confirmed his office on Wednesday.
During his visit to India, Vance will meet PM Narendra Modi to discuss economic and geopolitical priorities amid Trump’s tariff upheavals. The second family of the US will participate in engagements at cultural sites, and apart from New Delhi, visits to Jaipur and Agra are also on the cards.
This trip marks Vance’s second international visit as Vice President, following his earlier travels to France and Germany. For his wife, Usha Vance, whose parents emigrated from India, the visit will be her first official visit as Second Lady.
JD Vance was elected Vice President of the United States in the 2024 election, running alongside Donald Trump.
In February, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the United States for a two-day official trip, his first engagement with Trump’s return to office.
PM Modi arrived in Washington, DC, on February 12 and was hosted at Blair House, the official guest residence of the US President, situated opposite the White House.
The visit focused on strengthening bilateral ties in trade, defence, energy, and technology. Key outcomes included India’s agreement to reduce tariffs on over half of $23 billion worth of US imports — a major step toward the goal of doubling bilateral trade to $500 billion by 2030.
Modi and Trump also discussed a new defence partnership and regional security cooperation, with the US approving the extradition of 26/11 accused Tahawwur Rana.
The PM also met with Elon Musk to explore collaboration in space and technology, including the potential entry of Starlink into India.

2025 Audi A6 breaks cover globally. Check out features, engine and specifications

The sixth-generation Audi A6 Sedan showcases a modern, elegant design and advanced hybrid technology.

The 2025 Audi A6 manages to look sharper and more elegant at the same time.

Audi has officially unveiled the new A6 Sedan, its premium executive sedan that brings sportiness and elegance together with modern technology. The new Audi A6 comes packing a fresh design language, hybrid powertrains and a fully digital user experience.

This is the sixth iteration of the A6 sedan and this time it shares its platform with the A5 sedan, being built on the Premium Platform Combustion (PPC) architecture. In India, the A6 rivals executive sedans like the Mercedes-Benz E-Class and the BMW 5 Series.

    2025 Audi A6: Design

The new A6 Sedan’s design is a clear evolution of Audi’s signature style – sleek, functional, and performance-oriented. At the front, a large single-frame grille positioned low and flanked by sleek headlights projects a bold presence. The aerodynamics are significantly improved thanks to optimised air curtains and a front spoiler that reduces lift at the front axle.

The elongated rear end enhances the car’s stature, while sharp creases, precise LED lighting, and a full-width light strip give the A6 a commanding presence. The rear notchback design, including a sculpted tailgate and diffuser, optimises airflow and improves driving dynamics.

2025 Audi A6: Powertrain and performance

The A6 comes equipped with Audi’s MHEV plus mild-hybrid technology across both petrol and diesel variants. Options include a 2.0 TDI engine producing 201 bhp and a more powerful 3.0 TFSI V6 generating 362 bhp. The mild-hybrid system not only improves fuel efficiency but also provides an extra torque boost of up to 230 Nm and 23.6 bhp when accelerating or overtaking.

At low speeds, the A6 can operate in pure electric mode, including during parking and slow traffic. The regenerative braking system recovers up to 33.5 bhp during deceleration, thanks to an advanced electrohydraulic braking system that switches seamlessly between regenerative and friction braking.

2025 Audi A6: Suspension and handling

A major highlight is the optional adaptive air suspension, which adjusts body height based on drive modes and speed, reducing drag and enhancing comfort. In dynamic mode, the ride height is lowered by up to 30 mm for a sportier stance.

Additionally, the available all-wheel steering system improves low-speed manoeuvrability by turning the rear wheels in the opposite direction of the front, while enhancing stability at high speeds by steering them in the same direction.

2025 Audi A6: Interior and features

Inside, the A6 Sedan is a technological tour de force. The infotainment system is now powered by Android Automotive OS, with over-the-air updates and integrated third-party apps like Spotify and YouTube accessible directly through the Audi MMI interface. A smartphone is no longer needed to run most apps.

Touchscreen and voice controls are more intuitive than ever, with the Audi assistant learning user preferences and using internet-based data to respond to queries. Through a built-in integration with ChatGPT, the assistant can answer a wide range of user questions using natural speech prompts.

2025 Audi A6: Advanced Driver Assistance Systems

Standard across all variants is the comprehensive “driving and parking” assistance package, including adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, park assist plus, cross-traffic assist, and more. Audi has also introduced an optional Adaptive Driving Assistant Plus, which uses sensors, HD maps, and cloud-based swarm data to optimise navigation, lane guidance, and speed control – even in stop-and-go traffic.

    2025 Audi A6: Practicality

Despite its sporty focus, the new A6 doesn’t compromise on practicality. The luggage compartment offers up to 492 litres of space, enough for two large suitcases side by side. Rear seats fold in a 40:20:40 split for added versatility. An optional hands-free tailgate, complete with a foot-gesture kick sensor, adds to everyday convenience.

2025 Audi A6: Pricing and India availability

The new Audi A6 Sedan will be manufactured at Audi’s Neckarsulm plant and is set for a global rollout. Pricing for the entry-level TFSI variant starts at €55,500 (approx 53.5 lakh) in the International markets.

However, there is no word from the car maker about the pricing of the new A6 in India at the moment. We expect the A6 to be offered in India by 2026.
