Did an Indian-origin couple rent their home to Texas murder accused Karmelo Anthony?

Karmelo Anthony, the accused killer of 17-year-old Austin Metcalf, has moved to a new neighborhood after his release on bond.

The names of an Indian couple have been linked to the high-stakes Texas stabbing incident after murder accused Karmelo Anthony, who stabbed 17-year-old Austin Metcalf, moved to a new address after getting bail on bond citing security reasons. According to social media claims, the property where they moved to belongs to an Indian couple Mereddy Sandeep and Manasa Kuchikulla. While the claim is not verified, their photos are doing the rounds on social media as the case took a racial and political tone.
Karmelo Anthony and Austin Metcalf did not know each other and they met for the first time at a track meet. Austin Metcalf and his twin brother told Anthony that he was sitting at the wrong place, which led to an altercation and Anthony took out a knife from his backpack and stabbed Metcalf. He was arrested and he told the cops that his action was in self-defense as Metcalf raised his hands on him and pushed him.
Anthony walked out of jail after a judge ruled to lower his bond from $1 million to $250,000, triggering a major controversy. Anthony received massive support in the form of donations, predominantly from the black community. Anthony’s father told the court that they are not using the fund money to pay the bond, as the fund money will be used later for his legal defense.

Family moves to new address, buys car; flooded with deliveries from Amazon

Daily Mail reported that Karmelo and his family moved to a $900,000 home in a gated community “Richwoods” in Frisco where he will have to remain in house arrest with an ankle monitor on. The rent is $3,500 per month, according to Zillow. Daily Mail reported that when they visited the house, they were told by the neighbors that the Anthonys had purchased a new car. Throughout the day, Daily Mail reported, Amazon deliveries arrived at the home.
‘Richwoods,’ as the exclusive community is called, is located within walking distance of Centennial High School, where Anthony ran track and was the captain of the football team before his arrest.

What planet he lives on: Jimmy Kimmel’s viral take on Elon Musk’s ‘harem of baby mamas’

Jimmy Kimmel commented on the Wall Street Journal report of Elon Musk’s baby mamas.

Jimmy Kimmel did not miss the opportunity to have a laugh on Elon Musk after the Wall Street Journal came out with an investigative report shedding light on Elon Musk and his legion of babies. The report said Elon Musk fathered 14 children with multiple partners and while people know many of his partners, this can’t be said about all of his partners as he might have move children with additional women.
The report revealed a new name, a cryptocurrency influencer from Japan, Tiffany Fong, whom Musk directly messaged to have his child. After Musk approached Fong, her followers and revenue from X increased, but Fong declined Musk’s proposal. She also revealed his proposal to her friend Ashley St Clair, a Conservative influencer who recently claimed to have given birth to Elon Musk’s child. After Musk came to know of it, there was a drastic drop in Fong’s revenue.
“The story (WSJ) said he’s been using his social media platform to recruit women to carry his children, and then he buys their silence with multi-million dollar non-disclosure agreements,” said Kimmel.
“Who said romance is dead?” he asked.
Kimml even showed a viral photo of Elon Musk shirtless at a beach before he lost several pounds and said, “Based on this photograph, he may have given birth to them, too. He’s probably carrying a few around in his pouch like a kangaroo.”
“Sources told the Journal they believe there could be more mini-Musks out there,” Kimmel said. “Many more mini-Musks. You’ve heard of Alien vs. Predator? Elon might be both of them.”
“He has stated in the past that he believes declining birth rates are the greatest threat to humanity,” Kimmel said. “I’m not sure what planet Elon lives on. This one seems full to me.”
Citing a message that WSJ claimed Musk sent to a woman pregnant with his child ‘To reach legion-level before the apocalypse, we will need to use surrogates’, Kimmel said Musk even texts like a supervillain.
“It is kind of sweet, I guess. Elon loves babies. I mean, he spent $300 million to get one elected president,” Kimmel added.

‘The only right you have …’: VP takes on SC over deadline for President to decide on Bills

NEW DELHI: Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar on Thursday criticised the Supreme Court’s recent judgment that set a timeline for the President to decide on bills forwarded by governors, saying such a directive undermines the constitutional role of the country’s highest office.
Speaking to the sixth batch of Rajya Sabha interns at the Vice-President’s Enclave, Dhankhar questioned, “We cannot have a situation where you direct the President of India and on what basis?”
“There is a directive to the President by a recent judgement. Where are we heading? What is happening in the country? We have to be extremely sensitive. It is not a question of someone filing a review or not. We never bargained for democracy for this day. President being called upon to decide in a time-bound manner, and if not, becomes law,” Dhankhar added.
“President being called upon to decide in a time-bound manner, and if not, it becomes law. So we have judges who will legislate, who will perform executive functions, who will act as super Parliament, and absolutely have no accountability because law of the land does not apply to them,” he further added.

He added that the Constitution gives the judiciary the power to interpret the law under Article 145(3), but it does not authorise courts to issue directives to the President.
“The only right you have under the Constitution is to interpret the Constitution under Article 145(3). There it has to be five judges or more,” the VP said.
His comments come in response to an April 8 judgment by the Supreme Court, which for the first time imposed a three-month deadline for the President to act on bills reserved by state governors. The apex court held that any delay beyond this period must be justified, and urged state governments to cooperate with the Centre on such matters. The ruling followed a constitutional standoff in Tamil Nadu, where Governor RN Ravi had withheld assent to several bills for extended periods, prompting the state to seek judicial intervention.
Let the worms and skeletons be in public domain: Dhankhar on discovery of cash at high court judge’s house
Speaking on the alleged discovery of cash at former Delhi high court judge Yashwant Verma’s house, Dhankhar said the President and Governors enjoy constitutional immunity from prosecution, a privilege not extended to other public figures, including judges.
Dhankhar said it has been over a month since the issue came to light and “let the worms and skeletons be in public domain”.
“It is now over a month. Even if it is can of worms. Even if there are skeletons in the cupboard, time to blow up the can. Time for its lid to go out. And time for the cupboard to collapse. Let the worms and skeletons be in public domain so that cleansing takes place,” VP Jagdeep Dhankhar said.
The Supreme Court, in its ruling, had set aside the Tamil Nadu Governor’s second round of referring ten bills to the President, calling it legally flawed. The justices clarified that if the President withholds assent, the state government has the right to challenge the decision in court.

‘Trade recalibration worrisome’: FM Sitharaman amid Trump’s tariffs

NEW DELHI: Union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Thursday said that the recalibration of global trade policies poses serious challenges to the global economy. Her comments come in the wake of the sweeping tariffs imposed by US President Donald Trump which has sent jolts to the global stock markets.
Speaking at the 150th anniversary celebration of the Bombay Stock Exchange, Sitharaman said the world is becoming increasingly volatile and uncertain, and India must rely on policy agility and long-term vision to navigate the resulting disruptions.
Describing the ongoing shifts in global trade dynamics as “worrisome” and “very challenging,” she said that India remains confident due to its strong macroeconomic fundamentals and growing domestic strength.
“We recognize that the global landscape is changing and changing rapidly and the world is going through a phase of trade recalibrations and movements. I don’t need to talk in detail. The recalibration efforts on trade are very, very challenging,” the finance minister said.
“It is worrisome, but it is also going to be very challenging. The intensification of tariff wars and the rise of protectionist policies have the potential to disrupt global supply chains, increase production costs and create uncertainty in investment decisions,” Sitharaman added.
She stressed that the government’s approach to economic resilience is focused on boosting domestic efficiency and competitiveness.
Sitharaman also praised the growing maturity of India’s capital markets, underlined by the increasing dominance of domestic institutional investors.
“The world is looking towards us not just for our impressive growth trajectory or demographic strength, but for the example we can set as a nation that leads with integrity, inclusivity and innovation.”
“Domestic investors, particularly the institutional investors, have played an increasingly central role. In the last financial year, DIIs, the domestic institutional investors, recorded total inflows of 6.1 lakh crore,” she added.
During her address, Sitharaman called on corporates to prioritise transparency and shareholder value, and urged regulators to remain proactive in an era of constant change. She also highlighted the need for investor education, particularly through regional language programmes targeting first-time investors and underrepresented groups.
India’s stock markets have crossed the $5 trillion mark in capitalisation, making it the fifth-largest globally, Sitharaman said. Meanwhile, the number of large-cap companies with valuations above Rs 1 lakh crore has soared from just one in 2000 to 81 today.
“FY25 capitalization of India’s stock markets crossed 5 trillion US dollar market for the first time making it making India the fifth largest capital market globally. Over the past five years indices have delivered an impressive 131% dollar adjusted return the highest among global peers,” she said.

‘Vacate PoK’: India after Pak army chief rakes up two-nation theory

NEW DELHI: India on Thursday responded firmly to the “two-nation” comment made by Pakistan saying that the only relationship the neighbouring nation had was “vacation of the illegally occupied territories by that country.”
“How can anything foreign be in a jugular vein? This is a Union Territory of India. Its only relationship with Pakistan is the vacation of illegally occupied territories by that country,” ministry of external affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said.
Pakistan’s army chief, General Asim Munir, on Wednesday had voiced support for the “two-nation theory” that underpinned the creation of Pakistan, highlighting what he described as fundamental differences between Hindus and Muslims in all facets of life.

“You have to narrate Pakistan’s story to your children so that they don’t forget it when our forefathers thought we were different from Hindus in every possible aspect of life,” Munir said.
The comment attracted strong reactions from India with Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma saying, ”The delineation is clear; our paths are divergent. It is now incumbent upon us to fortify our nation, uphold our dharma, and cherish our civilisational values. By doing so, we can ensure that our nation’s stature and influence ascend to unparalleled heights”.

‘Pak needs to bring to justice other perpetrators of 26/11 attack’

The MEA slammed Pakistan for being an “epicenter of global terrorism” and called upon the nation to “bring to justice other perpetrators of Mumbai attacks”.
“Pakistan may try very hard, but its reputation as the epicentre of global terrorism will not diminish,” Jaiswal said.
“The extradition of Rana serves as a reminder to Pakistan that it needs to bring to justice other perpetrators of the Mumbai attacks, whom it continues to shield…,” he added.
Tahawwur Rana was extradited this month from the US and is being interrogated by National Investigation Agency (NIA) over his alleged role in the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks.
The NIA suspects that Rana could offer key insights into reconnaissance missions conducted in several Indian cities prior to the 2008 attacks, as well as his interactions with members of the Lashkar-e-Taiba terror organization. Authorities are also probing possible connections between Rana and high-ranking members of groups like LeT and Harkat-ul Jihadi Islami (HuJI), in addition to potential involvement of officials from Pakistan’s intelligence agency, the ISI.
