Herald case: Youth Cong workers hit the streets over ED chargesheet against Rahul, Sonia
Patna: In a mark of protest over the chargesheet submitted by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) against party leader Rahul Gandhi and his mother Sonia Gandhi in the National Herald case, the youth wing of Congress disrupted the service of an express train at Secretariat Halt in Patna on Friday.
During the protest, the youth workers had laid down on the railway tracks and stopped the Jaynagar-Patna Express train. The police, however, acted swiftly and removed the protesters from the tracks.
Youth Congress state president Shiv Prakash Garib Das said that Rahul has been active in Bihar and raised questions against the NDA govt at the centre as well as in the state. “He has been raising issues related to the Dalit, backward and minority communities in the country. That has scared the Narendra Modi govt, which is misusing power and harassing our leaders. Today, we have stopped a train and will continue fighting on issues,” he said.
On the other hand, the BJP Yuva Morcha members on Friday too had hit the streets over the same issue and burnt effigies of Rahul and Sonia over their alleged involvement in the case near the Income Tax roundabout.
On April 16, Congressmen staged a similar protest near the ED office in the state capital. State Congress president Rajesh Ram, AICC Bihar in charge Krishna Allavaru, legislature party leader Shakeel Ahmed Khan and other party leaders and workers had staged a demonstration at the Income Tax roundabout. -

Never seen any RS chairperson make such political comments: Sibal on Dhakhar’s judiciary remarks
Rajya Sabha member Kapil Sibal slammed Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar on Friday (April 18, 2025) for questioning the judiciary over the timeline for the President to take decisions, saying this is “unconstitutional” and he had never seen any Rajya Sabha chairman make “political statements” of this nature.
A day after the Vice President used strong words against the judiciary, Mr. Sibal asserted that the Lok Sabha Speaker and the Rajya Sabha Chairman remain equidistant between the Opposition and the ruling party, and cannot be the “spokesperson of the party”.
“Everyone knows that the Lok Sabha Speaker’s chair is in between. He or she is the Speaker of the House, not the speaker of one party. They also don’t vote, they only vote when there is a tie. The same is with the Upper House. You are equidistant between the Opposition and the ruling party,” the senior advocate said at a press conference in New Delhi.
“Everything you say must be equidistant. No speaker can be the spokesperson of a party. I don’t say that he (Dhankhar) is but no Speaker in principle can be the spokesperson of any party. If it appears so then the dignity of the chair is lowered,” Mr. Sibal asserted.
Nuclear missile against democracy: Dhankar’s salvo at SC
Mr. Dhankhar on Thursday questioned the judiciary setting a timeline for the President to take decisions and act as a “super Parliament”, saying the Supreme Court cannot fire a “nuclear missile” at democratic forces.
Mr. Dhankhar’s strong words to the judiciary came during his speech to Rajya Sabha interns, days after the Supreme Court sought to fix a timeline for the President to grant assent to the bills reserved for her consideration by the governor.
“So, we have judges who will legislate, who will perform executive functions, who will act as super Parliament and absolutely have no accountability because the law of the land does not apply to them,” Mr. Dhankhar said.
He also described Article 142, which grants plenary powers to the Supreme Court, as a “nuclear missile against democratic forces available to the judiciary 24×7”.
Slamming Mr. Dhankhar for his remarks, Sibal said, “If you give such statements it will look as if judiciary is being taught a lesson. It Is not neutral and not constitutional.”
“The judiciary should not be attacked in this manner by the executive, especially two ministers – Arjun Ram Meghwal and Kiren Rijiju – and the chairman of the House, as the judiciary cannot defend itself. Then the polity must defend the judiciary. Independence of the judiciary is fundamental to democracy in the country. What is being done is unconstitutional,” he said.
“I have never seen any chairman of the House make political statements of this nature. Even BJP chairman in the past (have not done so),” Mr. Sibal said, hitting out at the Vice President.
Mr. Sibal said he was saddened and surprised by the statement of Mr. Dhankhar.
“Judicial institutions – high courts or Supreme Courts, if there is faith in any institution, it is the judiciary. I feel that when government people do not like the decisions of the judiciary then they start accusing that it (judiciary) has gone beyond its limit. When they like it and the Opposition says something then they say it is the decision of the Supreme Court,” the former Congress leader said.
“When someone raises questions about Article 370 or Ramjanam bhoomi judgment, the government people point out that it is a Supreme Court decision,” he said.
“When (Justice J.B,) Pardiwala judgment came they say how can the Supreme Court say this. The judgment which you do not like is wrong and which is as per your thinking, it is fine. It is not right for a Constitutional functionary to say such a thing,” he said referring to Mr. Dhakhar’s remarks.
President has no personal powers: Sibal hits back at Dhankhar’s judiciary remark
“I respect him a lot but you said article 142 is nuclear missile material, how can you say this? Article 142 has given powers to the Supreme Court and it is given by the Constitution, it is not by the government it is the Constitution to do complete justice,” Mr. Sibal said.
He also pointed out that the President of India is a titular head and acts on the aid and advice of the council of ministers.
“The governor acts on the aid and advice of the council of ministers in a State. So when a bill is passed it goes to the governor, the governor can make comments and send it back but if passed again, the governor has to give an assent as stated in the Constitution. The governor can send the bill to the President. The President acts on the aid and advice of the ministers, so the matter goes to the Centre. The President does not have personal powers,” he said.
Mr. Dhankar said how can President’s power be curtailed, Mr. Sibal noted and wondered who is curtailing the power of the President.
“Can the governor sit for two years on a bill that is important for people,” Mr. Sibal asked and added that this amounts to an intrusion on the supremacy of the legislature.
“If you have a problem with a judgment, call for a review. If there are still problems, take an advisory opinion from Supreme Court,” Mr. Sibal said.
“He (Dhankhar) talked about 1984 but did not talk about 2002. You talked about an emergency bit not undeclared emergency that is going on, you did not talk about capture of institutions,” Mr. Sibal said in a scathing criticism of Mr. Dhankhar’s comments.
He said it seems that he only talks about what happened in Congress governments and not after 2014.
“We moved an impeachment motion against judge of a high court in December; it was signed by more than 50 members. We are in April, it took five months to find out whether those signatures are genuine or not. How many more months would it take?” Mr. Sibal said.
“If you do not with expedition decide the matter then the argument for us is that we cannot do anything. If the governor doesn’t not clear bills, the judiciary cannot do anything,” he said.
“If the executive doesn’t do its job the judiciary has to intervene,” Mr. Sibal asserted.
Article 142 of the Constitution gives the Supreme Court the power to issue orders that ensure “complete justice” in any matter before it.

SINNERS leaves an impact thanks to its novel idea and bravura performances Movie Review: SINNERS leaves an impact thanks to its novel idea
Sinners (English) Review {3.0/5} & Review Rating
Star Cast: Michael B Jordan Hailee Steinfeld, Miles Caton
Director: Ryan Coogler
Sinners Movie Review Synopsis:
SINNERS is the story of one wild night. On October 15, 1932, the twins Smoke (Michael B Jordan) and Stack (Michael B Jordan) arrive at their hometown – Clarksdale, Mississippi – after amassing a lot of money in Chicago. They buy an old abandoned mill and plan to turn it into a juke joint the same night. They go around the town to get people on board for their venture. Their cousin, Sammie (Miles Caton), son of a pastor, is employed as a blues singer. An old friend and expert piano and harmonica player Delta Slim (Delroy Lindo), is also recruited. A Chinese couple Bo Chow (Yao) and Grace (Li Jun Li) are asked to paint the board. Smoke’s ex-wife Annie (Wunmi Mosaku) comes on board to cook food and Cornbread (Omar Benson Miller) is hired as the doorkeeper. The twins promote the opening of the joint in the town. Hence, they get a decent turnout. All is going well and everyone is making merry. But suddenly, two mysterious men and one mysterious woman arrive and all hell breaks loose. What happens next forms the rest of the film.Sinners Movie Story Review:
Ryan Coogler’s story is imaginative and creative. Ryan Coogler’s screenplay is comprehensive and has many twists and turns. The dialogues are sharp. Thankfully, the subtitles are present which makes it easier to decipher the difficult dialect.Ryan Coogler’s direction is supreme. The first and second halves of the film are very different from each other. The director uses the first half to establish the characters and setting and how they all turn up in the newly established club. At the same time, he also hints at how things are going to be messy and gory. The scene just before the interval point is gripping. In the second half, the film moves slowly but also keeps one captivated and even terrified.
On the flipside, a few aspects are confusing. The first half is a bit slow. The mid-credit scene is too long and though it’s novel, it doesn’t leave the desired impact. Lastly, the hype is limited for the film in India.
Sinners Movie Review Performances:
Michael B Jordan plays the role of the twins with panache. It’s also praiseworthy how he subtly makes sure that both characters are a bit different from each other. Miles Caton is very impressive and he has a crucial part in the narrative. Wunmi Mosaku, Delroy Lindo, Hailee Steinfeld (Mary) and Jayme Lawson (Pearline) leave a huge mark. Omar Benson Miller, Yao, Li Jn Li and Helena Hu (Lisa) lend able support. Jack O’Connell (Remmick), Peter Dreimanis (Bert) and Saul Williams (Jedidiah) are terrific as the villains. David Maldonado (Hogwood) also does very well.Sinners movie music and other technical aspects:
Ludwig Göransson’s music is an intrinsic part of the production and is well woven into the narrative. The blues-style background score goes well with the film too. Autumn Durald Arkapaw’s cinematography is stunning. Hannah Beachler’s production design and Ruth E Carter’s costumes are very authentic. The VFX is classy while the action is very gory. Michael P Shawver’s editing could have been slicker.Sinners Movie Review Conclusion:
On the whole, SINNERS leaves an impact thanks to its novel idea, supernatural touch and bravura performances.Adblock test (Why?)

KESARI CHAPTER 2 is a hard-hitting courtroom drama that works due to its performances and treatment Movie Review: KESARI CHAPTER 2 is a hard-hitting courtroom drama
Kesari Chapter 2 Review {3.5/5} & Review Rating
Star Cast: Akshay Kumar, R Madhavan, Ananya Panday
Director: Karan Singh Tyagi
Kesari Chapter 2 Movie Review Synopsis:
KESARI CHAPTER 2 is the story of a man who shook the foundations of the British empire. On April 13, 1919, a group of protesters assemble peacefully at the Jallianwalla Bagh, Amritsar to protest against the Rowlatt Act. General Dyer (Simon Paisley Day) reaches the spot with his armed troops and instructs them to fire at the people without warning. It leads to the loss of hundreds of lives. The press is censored from talking about it. The official version given is that the protestors were armed and hence, General Dyer had to open fire. To calm down the criticism, the British government puts together an enquiry commission. Sir C Sankaran Nair (Akshay Kumar) is the only Indian in this commission. Though he’s an Indian, he believes in the British justice system. He’s such a devout servant of the Crown that the government has even made him a part of the Viceroy’s Council. He begins the inquiry and realizes that the British are trying to suppress facts. A chance meeting with a young revolutionary boy, Pargat Singh (Krish Rao), changes his viewpoint. He further has a change of heart when he talks to a law student, Dilreet Gill (Ananya Panday). Hence, he decides to go to Court and sue General Dyer for genocide. In an unexpected move, the Crown appoints Neville McKinley (R Madhavan) as the defence lawyer. Sankaran and Neville have a rough past and the latter is all set to hit back at the former through this case. What happens next forms the rest of the film.Kesari Chapter 2 Movie Story Review:
KESARI CHAPTER 2 is based on the book ‘The Case That Shook The Empire: One Man’s Fight For The Truth About The Jallianwala Bagh Massacre’ by Raghu Palat and Pushpa Palat. Karan Singh Tyagi and Amritpal Singh Bindra’s story is incredible. Many are aware of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre but not about the case. Karan Singh Tyagi and Amritpal Singh Bindra’s screenplay moves at a decent pace and is replete with riveting dramatic and confrontational moments. Sumit Saxena’s dialogues are arresting.Karan Singh Tyagi’s direction is uncomplicated, though he uses a back-and-forth narrative in the beginning. At a basic level, it’s a hero vs villain story. The hero is fighting a gigantic antagonist who has the full support of an unjust system. Hence, one can’t help but get disgusted by the villain and root for C Sankaran Nair all along. A few scenes that stand out are Sankaran Nair being stopped for accessing the courtyard as ‘dogs and Indians are not allowed’, Shankaran’s visit to Pargat and Dilreet filing the case with Shankaran’s sudden appearance at the court. Post-interval, the Martha Stevens track is very memorable. The climax might seem predictable and yet, it packs a punch. The film ends on an exhilarating note.
Kesari Chapter 2 – Official Trailer | Akshay Kumar | R. Madhavan | Ananya Panday | Karan S Tyagi
On the flipside, it’s strange that C Sankaran Nair, until the massacre, fully believed the British justice system and he never had any doubts about them. The courtroom drama follows a set template and hence, one might anticipate where the film is moving. Moreover, it’s an urban film and doesn’t offer much to the masses. The ‘A’ rating is also unwarranted for. Ideally, a film like this should have been awarded a U/A rating for a wider reach.
Kesari Chapter 2 Movie Review Performances:
Akshay Kumar delivers a stupendous performance. His change of heart and also the way he mouths powerful lines in the court make for a great impact. Ananya Panday proves her worth, especially during the Martha Stevens track and when she meets C Sankaran Nair at the railway station. R Madhavan has a late entry but dominates some of the scenes in the second half. Regena Cassandrra (Parvathy Nair) is wasted. Simon Paisley Day plays his part with perfection and steals the show with his villainous act. Krish Rao has an important part and he leaves a huge mark. The same goes for Amit Sial (Tirath Singh). Steven Hartley (Judge McArdie), Sammy Jonas Heaney (Harold Laksi; jury member), Mark Bennington (Michael O’Dwyer), Alexx O’Nell (Lord Chelmsford), Rohan Verma (Jaan Nisar), Alexandra Moloney (Martha Stevens), Jaipreet Singh (Kirpal Singh) and Luke Kenny (Appeal court judge) also do very well.Kesari Chapter 2 movie music and other technical aspects:
KESARI CHAPTER 2 hardly has any songs. ‘O Shera’ is memorable but a film like this deserved a hit soundtrack considering that KESARI’s [2019] songs are remembered even today. Shaswat Sachdev’s background score is very arresting.Debojeet Ray’s cinematography is appropriate. Rita Ghosh’s production design and Sheetal Iqbal Sharma’s costumes are reminiscent of the bygone era. Futureworks’ VFX is top-class. Florian Hotz and Sunil Rodrigues’ action is disturbing but it’s the requirement of the script. Nitin Baid’s editing is slick.
Kesari Chapter 2 Movie Review Conclusion:
On the whole, KESARI CHAPTER 2 is a hard-hitting courtroom drama and works due to the performances and treatment and also because it tells an untold and shocking chapter of Indian history. At the box office, it will need a strong word of mouth to sustain and emerge as a profitable venture. The adults only rating might restrict its business to some extent.Adblock test (Why?)

LOGOUT has a nail-biting first half but the film is affected by a weak second half Movie Review: LOGOUT raises important issue and has a nail-biting first half
Logout Review {3.0/5} & Review Rating
Star Cast: Babil Khan, Rasika Dugal
Director: Amit Golani
Logout Movie Review Synopsis:
LOGOUT is the story of an influencer and a fan. Pratyush Dua (Babil Khan) stays in Delhi alone, away from his family. He’s a massive phone addict and also a popular influencer who goes by the name ‘Pratman’. His follower count is about to reach the 10 million mark. However, another popular influencer, Ankita (Anisha Victor), is also all as set to cross the coveted mark. The netizens are charged up to see who gets 10 million followers first. Pratyush’s friend and manager JD (Gandharv Dewan) insists that Pratyush should win the race. If that happens, a popular company will sign him up for a tempting deal, that will change things for him. But they would sign Ankita if she manages to get 10 million followers before Pratyush. As part of the strategy of getting more followers, Pratyush meets Bhuvan Bam at an event and shoots a collab video. He gets heavily drunk and goes live on his social media, asking his followers to help him amass 10 million followers. The next day, Pratyush wakes up only to find that his phone is missing. Since he was intoxicated the previous night, he’s unable to remember where he kept his phone. He opens his PC to track his device. This is when he gets an email from a girl whom he had met in Gwalior a year back, Aabha. She claims that she called his number and a cabbie happened to pick the call. She further claimed that Pratyush forgot the phone in the cab and that she’d help him get his phone back. Pratyush is relieved that his phone’s whereabouts are known. She makes him pay an amount to the driver, so that he can come all the way to his residence to deliver the phone. But while transferring the money, the OTP is sent to Pratyush’s phone. With no other option, Pratyush gives his phone password to Aabha, so that the driver can access the OTP. Soon, Pratyush realizes that he didn’t leave the phone in the cab and that Aabha is the one who has his phone. What’s worse is that Aabha is not her real name; she refuses to divulge her identity. She claims to be his biggest fan and wants to spend time with him; or else, she’ll expose him on social media. What happens next forms the rest of the film.Logout Movie Story Review:
Biswapati Sarkar’s story is terrific and very relevant for today’s times. Biswapati Sarkar’s screenplay is very captivating until the middle of the second half. To engage the audience when there’s just one actor on screen 90% of the time and the other character’s voice is heard is not easy. But the writing is very tight and hence, one doesn’t get bored. However, the climax leaves a lot to be desired. Biswapati Sarkar’s dialogues are conversational and realistic.Amit Golani’s direction is supreme. To begin with, the various social media and email accounts shown in the film are all fictitious and inspired by real-life apps and websites. But this bit is depicted in a very authentic manner. Secondly, there are a lot of nail-biting moments in the film and it’s impressive they managed to do that since the setting is very unconventional. Moreover, it looks convincing when Pratyush divulges his phone’s password and he believes the fan. Also interesting is how Pratyush uses his brain to understand who this fan can be.
Sadly, the makers mess up the film in the second half. One of the biggest problems with LOGOUT is that one never comes to know under what circumstances Pratyush loses his phone. The makers chose not to present this crucial aspect at all. They also conveniently forget what happened to Pratyush’s ex-girlfriend Smriti, especially after the caller tried to harm her relationship with her fiancé. The climax tries to raise an important issue but the message doesn’t come across neatly.
Logout Movie Review Performances:
Speaking of performances, Babil Khan shines. He’s visible in most of the scenes and he makes good use of the opportunity to prove his worth. The character goes through a lot and Babil’s expressions, body language and his way of emoting are spot-on. Nimisha Nair (caller) has limited screen time and is quite good. She is seen less and heard more and her dialogue delivery is praiseworthy. Rasika Dugal (Pratyush’s sister) is lovely, as always, in a cameo. Gandharv Dewan, Anisha Victor and others are fair.Logout movie music and other technical aspects:
There’s only one song in the film – ‘Tipi Tipi Tap’ – and it’s forgettable. Haroon & Gavin’s background score, however, adds to the tension. Pooja Gupte’s cinematography is appropriate. Sukant Panigrahy’s production design is cool, especially the interiors of Pratyush’s house. Special mention should go to the VFX team and graphics – the scenes of the computer screen are classy. Pampa Biswas’s costumes are straight out of life. Atanu Mukherjee’s editing is slick but could have been sharper in a few places.Logout Movie Review Conclusion:
On the whole, LOGOUT raises an important issue and features a gripping, nail-biting first half, with Babil Khan’s impactful performance serving as the icing on the cake. However, the weak second half and underwhelming climax dilute some of its overall impact.Adblock test (Why?)

Babil Khan goes ‘humbly’ savage in satirical video with Biswapati Sarkar, watch
Babil Khan, who has been the subject of online memes targeting his “forever humble” image, has responded in an unexpected way. Instead of reacting with frustration or staying quiet, he collaborated with satirist and Logout writer Biswapati Sarkar for a six-minute satirical video. In the clip, Babil leans into the jokes, offering more material to the trolls—but this time, on his own terms.
Babil Khan goes ‘humbly’ savage in satirical video with Biswapati Sarkar, watch
Ahead of his upcoming release Logout, Babil embraces the chaos with a spoof that’s unhinged, hilarious, and brutally self-aware. From the moment he bypasses the guest chair and casually sits on the floor, he sets the tone for what’s to come – a roast that’s as delightfully chaotic as it is clever.
The video features Biswa’s signature style—deadpan humor, subtle sarcasm, and a clever take on Babil’s social media image. From the “green flag” boyfriend posts to his reflective captions and outspoken views, everything gets a light jab. Babil, for his part, responds with ease, taking it all in good humor.
[embedded content]At a time when most celebrities carefully curate their image, Babil’s choice to parody himself stands out. Rather than avoiding the jokes, he leans into them with a touch of satire. His collaboration with Biswa shows he’s comfortable laughing at himself, offering a light-hearted take on the online chatter. In doing so, he shifts the focus and takes control of the narrative in his own way.
The spoof video offers a glimpse of the creative synergy between Babil Khan, director Amit Golani, and writer Biswapati Sarkar. Their work comes together in Logout, now streaming on ZEE5, where Babil plays a social media influencer nearing 10 million followers. The story takes a darker turn when a fan’s growing obsession pulls him into a tense game of cat and mouse, disrupting his online persona. Logout explores themes of digital dependence and the risks of losing touch with reality in a virtual world.
Logout premieres on 18th April, exclusively on ZEE5.

Jaat controversy: Jalandhar police file FIR against Sunny Deol, Randeep Hooda, over a scene allegedly offending Christian community
An FIR has been lodged against Bollywood actors Sunny Deol, Randeep Hooda, and Vineet Kumar Singh for allegedly hurting religious sentiments through a scene in their recently released film Jaat.
Jaat controversy: Jalandhar police file FIR against Sunny Deol, Randeep Hooda, over a scene allegedly offending Christian community
The Jalandhar police filed the case on Wednesday under Section 299 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which deals with deliberate and malicious acts meant to offend religious feelings. The complaint also names the film’s director, Gopichandh Malineni, and its producers.
According to the complainant, a particular scene in the film, which premiered on April 10, has “deeply hurt the religious sentiments of the entire Christian community.” The complaint further alleges that the scene displayed disrespect towards Jesus Christ.
The scene in Jaat allegedly depicts Randeep Hooda’s character standing beneath a crucifix inside a church, directly above the sacred pulpit, while people are engaged in prayer. It reportedly features acts of intimidation and disruptive behaviour.
The complainant alleged, “The director, writer and producer deliberately released this film during the holy month of Good Friday and Easter so that the Christians get angry and riots break out in the entire country and unrest is spread.”
Sunny Deol’s latest action film Jaat stars Randeep Hooda as the primary antagonist. The supporting cast includes Vineet Kumar Singh, Saiyami Kher, Regena Cassandrra, Prashant Bajaj, Zarina Wahab, and Jagapathi Babu.
Jaat also marks the Hindi directorial debut of Gopichandh Malineni, who is known for his work in Telugu cinema with films like Don Seenu, Bodyguard, and Veera Simha Reddy.
The film is produced by Mythri Movie Makers and People Media Factory, and released in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu. It has grossed over Rs. 60 crores at the box office so far.
On Thursday, Sunny Deol confirmed that he will be making a return to the big screen with a sequel titled Jaat 2.

EXCLUSIVE: Gopichand Malineni on what one can expect in Jaat 2: “MORE action and entertainment than Jaat; also focus on Sunny Deol’s family”; CONFIRMS that his next is with Nandamuri Balakrishna: “We go on floors on NBK’s birthday”
The action entertainer Jaat was released on April 10 and emerged as a success at the box office. Exactly, a week later, on April 17, the makers announced a sequel to Jaat, titled Jaat 2. Like the first part, it’ll feature Sunny Deol in the lead role and it’ll be directed by Gopichand Malineni. A few hours after this epic announcement, the talented writer-director Gopichandh spoke exclusively to Bollywood Hungama about the sequel.
When asked if the script is ready for Jaat 2, Gopichand Malineni replied, “It’ll take time. However, it’ll have more action, more emotion and more entertainment than Jaat. This time, we’ll also have the family angle.”
Many felt that Sunny Deol should have had a heroine opposite him in Jaat. Also, though the makers establish his background in the second half, details about his family and hometown are not given out.
Gopichand Malineni assured that these aspects will be taken care of in Jaat 2, “Next time, we’ll show his family. It’ll be something interesting for the audience.”
However, Jaat 2 would take time as Gopichand Malineni is starting work on an action-packed Telugu film. He revealed, “I am immediately starting work on a Telugu film starring Nandamuri Balakrishna. It’s an action film. I had worked with NBK earlier in Veera Simha Reddy (2023); it was a blockbuster.” He added, “My script work is already going on and we go on floors on June 10, which is Balakrishna’s birthday.”
When asked if Jaat 2 can begin only next year, that is, 2026, he replied in the affirmative.
Censor cuts in Jaat
Certain scenes in Jaat have been blurred. On this, Gopichand Malineni stated, “When we approached the CBFC, they suggested dialogue cuts. They also pointed at the excessive violence. Hence, they told us that if we opt for an ‘A’ certificate, then we can retain the violence. We asked them what we should do in order to get a U/A certificate. They suggested the dialogue cuts and blurring of certain violent scenes. We accepted it as we wanted the family audience to also watch Jaat.”

Redmi Turbo 4 Pro Confirmed to Launch Next Week With 2.5K Display
Redmi started teasing the arrival of the Redmi Turbo 4 earlier this month. While an exact date is yet to be confirmed by the Xiaomi sub-brand, the brand’s General Manager has recently hinted at the Redmi Turbo 4 Pro’s launch timeline. It is confirmed to boast a 2.5K resolution display. The Redmi Turbo 4 Pro is set to be the first device to hit the market with Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 onboard.
Redmi General Manager Thomas Wang on Weibo announced that the Redmi Turbo 4 Pro will be unveiled next week in China. The flagship phone has now been confirmed to feature a 2.5K resolution display. The executive stated that it will deliver improved battery life, texture and performance over the standard Redmi Turbo 4 model. Configurations of the new phone are claimed to be higher than the Ace and Neo-branded devices from competing companies (translated).
Earlier this month, Thomas Wang teased the arrival of Redmi Turbo 4 Pro. It is confirmed to run on the newly launched Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 SoC. The new phone would be the first handset to use this flagship 4nm octa-core chipset. It supports up to 24GB LPDDR5x RAM and UFS 4.0 onboard storage. It is advertised to deliver up to 31 percent improved CPU performance over the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 SoC.
Redmi Turbo 4 Pro is rumoured to feature a glass body with a metal middle frame. The battery capacity of the phone is said to be more than 7,000mAh. The handset is speculated to be rebadged as the Poco F7 in global markets outside China.
The standard Redmi Turbo 4 was launched in China in January with a starting price tag of CNY 1,999 (roughly Rs. 23,500) for the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage option. It has a 6.67-inch 1.5K (1,220 x 2,712 pixels) OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It is equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 8400-Ultra chipset and has a 50-megapixel dual rear camera system. It houses a 6,550mAh battery with support for 90W wired fast charging.

WhatsApp Developing Feature to Select Auto-Download Quality for Photos and Videos
WhatsApp is working on a feature that allows users to control the quality of media that is downloaded automatically. According to details shared by a feature tracker, the messaging platform is developing a new option that decides whether images and videos are downloaded in standard quality or HD quality. The messaging platform already allows users to select the quality of media while uploading a photo or video, while users can also opt to always send HD quality images by enabling a dedicated setting.
How WhatsApp’s Auto-Download Quality Setting for Media Works
Feature tracker WABetaInfo discovered a new ‘Auto-download quality’ feature in the works on WhatsApp beta for Android 2.25.12.24 update, which recently rolled out to beta testers. The functionality is still being developed, which means that testers cannot try it out. However, a screenshot of the feature gives us a peek at how it will work.
The ‘Auto-download’ quality setting on WhatsApp
Photo Credit: WABetaInfoWhen the feature is eventually rolled out to beta testers, users should be able to find it by navigating to the WhatsApp settings menu and tapping Storage and data > Auto-download quality. A pop up menu allows you to choose Standard quality or HD quality.
A short description of the feature tells us that this feature tells WhatsApp whether to download received images in standard or HD quality, which can help users reduce the amount of device storage occupied by media received on WhatsApp. It might also help users prevent excessive mobile data usage.
The feature tracker gives us some more insight into the new auto-download quality feature and how it works. Because WhatsApp uses end-to-end encryption, the app generates two versions of the same media (HD and standard quality) and then uploads both versions to the server.
Depending on the recipient’s auto-download quality setting, the server sends the appropriate file for download. Users might also see an option to view an image in HD quality as long as the mage is still available on the server.
This feature is still in development, and there’s no indication of when it could be rolled out to beta testers. It is also expected to arrive on WhatsApp for iOS, as the service typically offers feature parity across both platforms. It is expected to land on the beta channel before rolling out to all users on the stable channel.

Oppo has also confirmed the battery and charging details of the phone. It will join the Oppo K12 and the K12 Plus variants, which were unveiled in the country in April and October 2024, respectively. Notably, the company is gearing up to launch the Oppo K13 5G in India on April 21.
Oppo K12s 5G Launch, Design, Colour Options, Features
The Oppo K12s 5G will launch in China on April 22 at 2:30pm local time (12pm IST), the company confirmed in a Weibo post. The smartphone will be backed by a 7,000mAh battery with 80W wired fast charging support.
In another post, the company revealed that the Oppo K12s 5G will be offered in Prism Black, Rose Purple, and Star White (translated from Chinese) colour options. The handset will be available in 8GB + 128GB, 8GB + 256GB, 12GB + 256GB, and 12GB + 512GB RAM and storage configurations, as per the official e-store listing of the phone.
Oppo K12s 5G appears to have a square rear camera module with rounded edges with two camera sensors placed in a vertical pill-shaped slot. The volume rocker and power button are seen on the right edge. It seems to have a flat display with narrow side bezels, a slightly thicker chin, and a centred hole-punch slot at the top to house the front camera.
The design and battery size of the Oppo K12s 5G suggest that it could be a rebranded version of the Oppo K13 5G, which is set to launch in India a day prior to the scheduled China launch of the K12s. The Oppo K13 5G will get a Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 SoC, an IP65-rated build, and a 6.66-inch 120Hz full-HD+ AMOLED screen.
The Oppo K12s 5G was reportedly spotted on China’s 3C and TENAA certification sites. The handset is expected to carry a 50-megapixel dual rear camera unit, a 16-megapixel selfie shooter, and an in-display fingerprint sensor. The report adds that the phone will likely ship with Android 15 with ColorOS skin on top. It is expected to be equipped with a 5,700mm² vapour chamber (VC) cooling system, NFC support, an IR blaster and dual speakers.
