  • Ghost of Yotei Official Website Reveals New Story Details, Reiterates 2025 Launch

Ghost of Yotei, Sucker Punch’s follow-up to Ghost of Tsushima, is set to launch exclusively on PS5 in 2025. The action-adventure title was revealed with a trailer at a PlayStation State of Play broadcast in September 2024. While Sony has since not shared an update on the first-party title, new information about the game’s story has surfaced on the PlayStation website.

Ghost of Yotei New Story Details

Ghost of Yotei will introduce a new protagonist, Atsu, a lone warrior on the path of revenge through the lands surrounding Mount Yōtei in Northern Japan in the 1600s. The official website now adds a little more context to Atsu’s journey.

“300 years after the events of Ghost of Tsushima, a new warrior – Atsu – rises from the ashes of her homestead,” the description on the website reads. “Filled with fury and determination, Atsu will hunt down those responsible for the death of her family and exact her revenge. Every odd job and bounty will provide the coin she needs for her journey. But how she fights, survives, and evolves the legend of the Ghost, will be up to you.”

As per the website, Atsu’s journey for revenge is a personal one. The description also mentions odd jobs and bounties, suggesting bounty hunting might be a gameplay mechanic in Ghost of Yotei. The website also suggests players will get the freedom to play as they want and shape Atsu’s combat and skills according to their preferences. Further, the description also suggests in-game money that Atsu could earn from jobs and bounty hunts will play a role in her journey.

The website reiterates that Ghost of Yotei will launch on PS5 in 2025, with enhanced performance and visuals available on the PS5 Pro. Sony has not confirmed a release date or launch window for the game yet.

Ghost of Yotei was revealed at Sony’s State of Play showcase in September with a trailer featuring a mix of gameplay and in-game cinematics. While Ghost of Tsushima was set on the titular island, Sucker Punch’s next game will take players to new region in Japan — Mount Yōtei, a volcanic peak in Ezo, the Northern Japanese region that’s presently known as Hokkaido.

  • Apple Reportedly Developing M5-Powered iPad Pro; Production Slated to Begin in H2 2025

Apple is said to be developing a new iPad Pro model and it is said to be in the “late testing” stage within the company. According to claims by a seasoned journalist, it will be one of the first devices to be powered by Apple’s upcoming M5 chipset. Four variants of the purported M5-powered iPad Pro are reported to be on track for production and it may commence in the second half of this year.

    M5 iPad Pro Development Tipped

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman shared details about Apple’s upcoming iPad models in the latest edition of the Power On newsletter. The journalist claims that the purported M5 iPad Pro model will only likely receive a specifications bump and its overall design could remain identical to the current model.

Notably, Apple refreshed its M4 iPad Pro in May 2024 and it became the first iPad in the company’s lineup to feature an OLED screen. It also came with a new landscape front camera and a thinner profile. Except for the new M5 SoC, the purported M5 iPad Pro is speculated to retain these design elements.

At present, there are four variants of the tablet under testing — J817, J818, J820 and J821. They are said to be on track for production in the second half of 2025. This is in line with previous claims by industry analyst Ming-Chi Kuo who shared details about the expected mass production timeline of the purported M5-powered iPad Pro.

Alongside the iPad models, the iPhone maker is also said to be developing new MacBook Air and MacBook Pro models with the same chipset, and both of them aren’t expected to undergo a major design change either. Meanwhile, Apple is also reported to be working on M6 chipset-powered iPad models although the development is still in early stages. Gurman suggests they could be equipped with the company’s proprietary modems.

With the debut of iPhone 16e in February, the Cupertino-based tech giant introduced its in-house C1 modem to power cellular connectivity. The company claims it as the “most power-efficient modem ever” on an iPhone. Future iterations of this modem could potentially make their way to Apple’s purported M6-powered iPad models.

  • Nigerian Boxer Gabriel Oluwasegun Olanrewaju Dies After Collapsing Mid-Bout

A Nigerian professional boxer Gabriel Oluwasegun “Success” Olanrewaju tragically died after collapsing during a fight in Ghana, BBC reported. The former Nigerian and West African light-heavyweight champion, collapses onto the ropes in the third round- without taking a punch.

The 40-year-old boxer received first aid in the ring before being rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead 30 minutes after arrival.

According to the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA), Oluwasegun Olanrewaju stepped back and leaned against the ropes just seconds before the end of the third round, without taking a punch from his opponent.

Sensing distress, the referee stopped the fight and called for the ringside physician, who, along with paramedics from the National Ambulance Service, attempted to resuscitate him.

The GBA stated that Olanrewaju had been declared medically fit by the Nigeria Boxing Board Control (NBBC), which had sanctioned and approved the fight. However, the NBBC later told The Punch that it had not authorized the specific bout in which he passed away.

According to reports, Olanrewaju was initially scheduled to fight on Friday but was deemed overweight for the match. NBBC secretary Remi Aboderin told The Punch that after failing the weigh-in, the boxer attempted to return to Nigeria but later decided to stay in Ghana due to financial difficulties.

“He owed a lot of people money,” Aboderin said. “The matchmaker informed him of another fight on Saturday night, but we did not approve that bout.”

Aboderin described Olanrewaju as a “ring warrior” and expressed the federation’s deep sorrow over his passing, adding, “We will stand by his family.”

A former coach of Olanrewaju, Babatunde Ojo, revealed that he had advised the boxer against taking a last-minute fight. “You can’t just pick a fight on short notice; you need at least a month to prepare,” Ojo said. “I am very saddened by his loss. May his soul rest in peace.”

  • State Bank of India Internet Banking Services Hit By Technical Issues

State Bank of India (SBI) customers faced disruptions today in internet and mobile banking services for the second time this month due to “technical issues”. The glitch affected users across the country, causing failures in mobile banking and fund transfers.

Data from Downdetector showed a surge in reports of SBI mobile banking outages, peaking between 11:00 AM and 11:30 AM IST. The majority of issues reported were related to mobile banking (64%), followed by fund transfers (33%) and ATM problems (3%). Customers took to social media to complain about failed transactions and difficulties accessing their accounts.

NPCI has issued an official statement about some banks facing transaction issues: “Today, due to financial year closing, some of the banks are facing intermittent transaction declines. The UPI system is working fine, and we are working with the concerned banks for necessary redressal.”

This is not the first time SBI customers have faced this issue. In March, on 11th March, State Bank of India’s customers faced difficulties in accessing UPI and mobile banking services for more than four hours.

“Technical issues with the SBI UPI application stand resolved and it has been working fine since 5 p.m.,” the bank, which services 50 crore customers, said in a statement on that day. The lender regretted the inconvenience caused to the customers. The exact reason for the technical issues was not immediately ascertained.

It can be noted that the sector regulator has been pressing banks to ensure seamless connectivity and invest sufficiently in the backend to make this possible. The RBI has been insisting on curtailing such outages and also minimising the time taken for resolution of such disruptions and taking very stern actions against errant entities if it finds non-compliance.

Video: Fire Breaks Out In Delhi Shopping Complex, ‘Everything Destroyed’

A massive fire broke out in a shopping complex in Delhi’s Jhandewalan, and the police and firefighters are at the spot to extinguish the blaze. The fire was brought under control after at least two hours of firefighting operation. Everything in the building was destroyed, sources said. No injuries have been reported.

The fire broke out in the Anarkail building and the Delhi Development Authority’s shopping complex.

The five-storey building was undergoing repair work when the fire broke out. Cars parked on the road outside the complex were burned, and the firefighters had to deploy cranes to douse the flames on the top floors of the complex, where the fire had spread.

The building had several offices and various shops, including those of ICICI Bank, Domino’s Pizza, etc. Cash worth lakhs in the bank was burnt in the fire, sources said.

    More details are awaited.

Today, a fire broke out in a building in Noida Sector 18.  Joint Commissioner of Police Shiv Hari Meena spoke to ANI and said, “We received information about the fire at Sector 18, Krishna Plaza in Noida. We arrived with fire services and doused the blaze in a few minutes. People were evacuated, and those feeling unwell were sent to the hospital for treatment.”

“Prima facie, we believe the fire erupted due to a short circuit. We have checked all the floors but will recheck for any individuals trapped inside,” said the official.

Hezbollah Official Among 4 Killed In Israeli Strike On Lebanon’s Beirut

A Hezbollah official was among four people killed Tuesday in an Israeli strike on south Beirut, Israel and a Hezbollah source said, the second such raid during a fragile four-month ceasefire.

Lebanon’s leaders condemned the attack, which came without warning at around 3:30 am (0030 GMT) during the Eid al-Fitr Muslim holiday marking the end of the Ramadan fasting period.

It struck after Israel on Friday raided Beirut’s southern suburbs — a stronghold of Lebanon’s Iran-backed Hezbollah armed group — after issuing an evacuation warning.

Lebanon’s health ministry said four people, including a woman, were killed in the latest strike.

The top two floors of a multi-storey building were destroyed, an AFP journalist said.

Ismael Noureddine, who lives in the building opposite, said his family was screaming.

“We couldn’t see each other because of all the dust,” he told AFP, describing “a very big explosion”, followed by another.

A source close to Hezbollah, requesting anonymity as they were not authorised to brief the media, told AFP the strike killed Hassan Bdair, Hezbollah’s “deputy head for the Palestinian file” who was “at home with his family”.

Israel’s military confirmed it killed Bdair in a joint statement with the Shin Bet domestic security agency.

The statement said Bdair “recently operated in cooperation with the Hamas terrorist organisation, directed Hamas terrorists, and assisted them in planning and advancing a significant and imminent terror attack against Israeli civilians”.

  • Supreme Court Refuses To Release YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia’s Passport

Supreme Court Refuses To Release YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia’s Passport

The Supreme Court has refused to release the passport of podcaster and YouTube personality Ranveer Allahbadia – who is being investigated for his ‘sex and parents’ comment on stand-up comedy show ‘India’s Got Latent’. The court, however, said it would consider the plea after the investigation is over, which Solicitor General Tushar Mehta said would be within two weeks.

Mr Allahbadia had today offered an undertaking to maintain a level of ‘decency’ in his shows as he sought the modification of court orders to deposit his passport. He said not having his passport – which means he cannot travel abroad for shows – was affecting his livelihood.

Appearing for him, senior advocate Abhinav Chandrachud told a bench of Justice Surya Kant and Justice N Kotiswar Singh his client had filed that undertaking and joined the investigation.

The court, however, felt that allowing Mr Allahbadia to travel abroad could delay the course of the investigation and, therefore, sought input from Mr Mehta – who represented the Maharashtra and Assam governments, whose police forces are leading this inquiry – on a potential timeline.

Mr Mehta told the court the investigations are likely to be completed in two weeks.

The court then said it would re-consider Mr Allahbadia’s plea after that time.

Meanwhile, the court also extended its order giving him interim protection from arrest over cases in Mumbai, Guwahati, and Jaipur. The court had first granted this protection last month, when he had been told to submit his passport. The court also fired a scathing rebuke at Mr Allahbadia, declaring “there is something dirty in his mind that is spread by this programme”.

Earlier this month the court had allowed him to resume his podcasts, subject to maintaining “morality and decency” and making it suitable for viewers of all ages.

Last week Mr Allahbadia resumed his programme – ‘The Ranveer Show’ – with a video statement in which he said he planned to use his platform more responsibly, especially in light of his significant influence on younger audiences.

Police from Mumbai (including a Cyber Department team) and Guwahati had filed cases against Mr Allahbadia and are conducting inquiries into the allegedly obscene comments that were made during an episode of ‘India’s Got Latent’.

After the row broke, Allahbadia offered an apology and blamed a lapse in judgement.

“My comment wasn’t just inappropriate… it was not even funny. Comedy is not my forte, I am just here to say sorry,” he said in a video message. He also acknowledged he had misused his platform. “I am not going to give any context or justification or reasoning behind whatever happened. I am just here for an apology. I personally had a lapse in judgement. It wasn’t cool on my part,” he said.

  • Ratan Tata’s Rs 3,800 Crore Estate: Who Gets What, Key Details Revealed

Ratan Tata’s Rs 3,800 Crore Estate: Who Gets What, Key Details Revealed

Late industrialist Ratan Tata’s estate, estimated to be worth around Rs 3,800 crore, will primarily benefit the Ratan Tata Endowment Foundation and the Ratan Tata Endowment Trust – both dedicated to philanthropic and charitable efforts, according to a report in The Economic Times.

Tata’s will dated February 23, 2022, outlines the distribution of his assets, with a focus on sustaining the charitable endeavours he championed. The bulk of his estate, consisting of Tata Sons’ ordinary and preference shares, along with other financial assets, will go to these two organisations, the report said. A significant portion of his wealth has been set aside for his family, friends, and close associates.

A third of the late industrialist’s other financial assets, including bank fixed deposits, financial instruments and physical possessions such as art and timepieces, estimated at Rs 800 crore, will be divided between his half-sisters, Shireen Jejeebhoy and Deanna Jejeebhoy, and Mohini M. Dutta, a former Tata Group employee who was close to Tata.

Tata’s brother, Jimmy Naval Tata, will inherit a share of the family’s Juhu bungalow, while close friend Mehli Mistry is set to receive the Alibaug property and his treasured collection of three firearms, which includes a .25-bore pistol.

It also includes a fourth codicil, which says that unlisted stocks and shares, as well as any assets not specifically detailed elsewhere, will be equally distributed between the Ratan Tata Endowment Foundation and the Ratan Tata Endowment Trust, according to court papers, the report said.

As part of the probate process, the executors of Tata’s will – lawyer Darius Kambatta, Mehli Mistry, and his sisters Shireen and Deanna Jejeebhoy – have filed a petition in the Bombay High Court. The probate procedure, which confirms the authenticity of a will and grants the executors the authority to distribute the estate, is expected to take around six months.

Tata’s will also ensures that his pets are cared for after his death. A sum of Rs 12 lakh has been earmarked for their care, with each pet receiving Rs 30,000 per quarter.

Tata’s executive assistant, Shantanu Naidu, will have his student loan waived, while neighbour Jake Malite will also benefit from an interest-free education loan.

Court papers show that in addition to a cash balance of over Rs 4 lakh and around Rs 367 crore held in local bank accounts and fixed deposits, Ratan Tata’s foreign assets include Rs 40 crore worth of property in Seychelles, along with bank accounts at Wells Fargo and Morgan Stanley, and shares in Alcoa Corp and Howmet Aerospace.

The asset list also includes 65 luxury watches from brands such as Bvlgari, Patek Philippe, Tissot and Audemars Piguet.

Tata’s land holdings in Seychelles are to be transferred to RNT Associates Singapore, with instructions to protect the interests of shareholders R Venkatraman and Patrick McGoldrick in RNT Associates India and Singapore.

In addition, Jimmy Tata will receive silverware and some jewellery, while also inheriting half of the Juhu property, which Ratan Tata inherited from his father, Naval H Tata. The remainder of the property will be shared by Simone Tata and Noel Tata.

Ratan Tata died on October 9, 2024.

  • 4 Degree Celsius Rise In Temperature May Cut Global GDP By 40%: Study

4 Degree Celsius Rise In Temperature May Cut Global GDP By 40%: Study

A team of Australian researchers on Tuesday said that 4-degree Celsius rise in global temperatures would cut world GDP by around 40 per cent by 2100 – a sharp increase from previous estimates of around 11 per cent.

New projections by the University of New South Wales (UNSW) Institute for Climate Risk and Response (ICRR) – published in the journal Environmental Research — fixes an oversight in the current economic model underpinning global climate policy, toppling previous carbon benchmarks.

According to the analysis, the results support limiting global warming to 1.7-degree Celsius, which is in line with significantly faster decarbonisation goals like the Paris Agreement, and far lower than the 2.7-degree Celsius supported under previous models.

“Economists have traditionally looked at historical data comparing weather events to economic growth to cost climate damages,” said lead researcher Dr Timothy Neal, a ‘Scientia Senior Lecturer’ in the School of Economics and also the ICRR.

What they fail to account for, he said, are interruptions to the global supply chains currently buffering economic shocks.

“In a hotter future, we can expect cascading supply chain disruptions triggered by extreme weather events worldwide,” Dr Neal added.

He further stated that the economic case for stronger climate change actions is clear. “Because these damages haven’t been taken into account, prior economic models have inadvertently concluded that even severe climate change wasn’t a big problem for the economy – and it’s had profound implications for climate policy,” said the lead researcher.

The local-only damage models have been used in the economic forecasting that has shaped the major powers’ climate policies and played a crucial role in international agreements.

The updated projection should underscore to all nations that they are vulnerable to climate change. “There’s an assumption that some colder countries, like Russia or Canada, will benefit from climate change, but supply chain dependencies mean no country is immune,” Dr Neal emphasised.

However, there’s still work to be done as “his research doesn’t account for climate adaptation, like human migration, which is politically and logistically complex and not yet fully modelled”, said the study.

  • Waqf Amendment Bill In Lok Sabha On Wednesday, 3 Days Before Session Ends

Waqf Amendment Bill In Lok Sabha On Wednesday, 3 Days Before Session Ends

The Waqf Amendment Bill – which proposes several changes to laws governing central and state boards, which decide how Muslim charitable properties are administered – will be tabled in the Lok Sabha Wednesday, Union Minority Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said this afternoon.

The current Parliament session – i.e., the second half of the Budget session – ends Friday and Mr Rijiju, who is also the Parliamentary Affairs Minister, said he wanted to allow MPs sufficient time to debate changes that have triggered a fierce row between the ruling BJP and the opposition.

Accordingly, the bill will be tabled in the Lok Sabha after the Question Hour and eight hours have been allotted for discussion. This can be extended at Speaker Om Birla’s discretion.

The bill had been first tabled in the Lower House in August last year, after which it was sent to a joint parliamentary committee for scrutiny. The JPC submitted its report in February.

The report was filed after squabbles between members from opposition parties and those from the BJP, and its allies, over the committee’s functioning. Opposition MPs accused the Chair – BJP MP Jagadambika Pal – of bias and rushing the bill through without proper consultations.

READ | “Ensure Fair Proceedings”: Suspended Waqf Panel MPs To Speaker

The BJP refuted that claims; panel member and Lok Sabha MP Aparajita Sarangi said Mr Pal “tried to hear everybody out and gave sufficient time for everybody to move amendments…”

The JPC held nearly three dozen hearings in six months but many of those ended in chaos, and at least one in physical violence after Trinamool MP Kalyan Banerjee smashed a glass bottle on the table, after claiming provocation from the BJP’s Abhijit Gangopadhyay.

Eventually 66 changes were proposed, of which all 44 from the opposition were rejected while the 23 from BJP and allied parties were accepted. After a vote 14 of the 23 were cleared.

READ | Rules On 2 Non-Muslims Among 14 Changes To Waqf Bill

The removal of an annexure containing dissent notes from the opposition MPs triggered another row.

The centre said the Chair had the discretion but, after talks, said the dissent notes would be included.

READ | Opposition MPs In Waqf House Panel Say Their Suggestions Ignored

The JPC had 16 MPs from the BJP and allied parties, and 10 from the opposition.

The original draft of the Waqf Amendment Bill had proposed 44 changes.

These included nominating non-Muslim and (at least two) women members to each Waqf board, as well as a Union Minister, three MPs and persons of ‘national repute’. There was also a proposal to limit donations from Muslims practicing their religion for at least five years.

The proposals were fiercely criticised by the opposition; senior Congress leader KC Venugopal said it amounted to a “direct attack on the freedom of religion”.

AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi and the DMK’s Kanimozhi also spoke out, arguing the bill violated multiple sections of the Constitution, including Article 15 (the right to practice a religion of one’s choice) and Article 30 (the right to minority communities to establish and administer educational institutions).

Sources earlier told NDTV the changes to the Waqf laws are meant to empower Muslim women and children who “suffered” under the old law.

NDTV Explains | Women, Non-Muslims, Council Can’t Claim Land: Waqf Changes

The objective, it has been argued, is also to curb illegal occupancy of by Waqf boards, who, combined, have the largest land holdings in the country – around eight lakh acres; the Railways and the military have more but they are part of the government while the Waqf boards are private organisations.

Sources further claimed a “dangerous narrative” is being manufactured by certain Muslim clerics who are making wild statements that their land will be snatched.

  • Global Warming Will Make The Average Person 40% Poorer, Study Warns

A new study by Australian scientists has revealed that the impact of global warming on wealth has been significantly underestimated. According to the research, if global temperatures rise by 4 degree Celsius, the average person’s wealth could decrease by as much as 40%, which is almost four times higher than previous estimates. The study also forecasts a 16% reduction in global GDP per person if temperatures increase by just 2 degree Celsius, much higher than earlier predictions that suggested a 1.4% drop.

The analysis fixes an oversight in the current economic model underpinning global climate policy, toppling previous carbon benchmarks. The work is published in the journal Environmental Research Letters.

Even if countries meet both near-term and long-term climate targets, the study suggests that global temperatures will still rise by 2.1 degree Celsius. These alarming findings highlight the dire consequences of climate change on economic stability and the wealth of individuals across the globe.

Professor Andy Pitman, a climate scientist at UNSW and co-author of the research, told The Guardian: “It’s in the extremes when the rubber hits the road. It isn’t about average temperatures”

“Retooling economic models to account for extremes in your part of the world and its impact on supply chains feels like a very urgent thing to do so countries can fully cost their economic vulnerabilities to climate change and then do the obvious thing – cut emissions.”

Some economists have argued global losses from global heating might be partially balanced by warming that could benefit some cold regions, such as Canada, Russia and northern Europe. But Neal said global heating would hit countries everywhere, because global economies are linked by trade.

Professor Frank Jotzo, a climate policy expert at Australian National University who was not involved in the research, said economic climate modelling using IAMs assumed that if climate change made an activity such as agriculture unviable in one part of the world, increased output would simply come from somewhere else.

“The result is that the models say that climate change makes little difference to the future world economy, which is contrary to what physical impact science and a nuanced understanding of interdependencies in the economy would suggest.”

  • Ashley St Clair Sells Tesla, Blames Elon Musk For Child Support Cuts

MAGA influencer Ashley St Clair has claimed that Elon Musk reduced financial support for their child by 60 per cent, forcing her to sell her $100K Tesla. Ms Clair, a conservative political commentator and influencer, said the Musk-owned company’s stock prices showed she was not the only one cleaning up after his messes.

This came after Ms Clair, who claims to have given birth to Tesla CEO’s 13th child, said, “I need to make up for the 60 per cent cut that Elon made to our son’s child support.”

“You can check the stocks, I’m not the only one who is cleaning up after his messes,” she added.

Ms Clair has accused the billionaire of punishing their son instead of taking responsibility. Her accusation came after Musk commented to show his willingness to determine paternity on far-right activist Laura Loomer’s X post.

He said, “I don’t know if the child is mine or not, but I am not against finding out. No court order is needed.” He also alleged that despite not knowing for sure, he has given Ashley $2.5M and is sending her $500k/year.”

Ms Clair responded to his tweet and said, “Elon, we asked you to confirm paternity through a test before our child (who you named) was even born. You refused.”

Calling him a petulant man-child, she added, “And you weren’t sending *me* money, you were sending support for your child that you thought was necessary… until you withdrew most of it to maintain control and punish me for “disobedience.” But you’re really only punishing your son.”

Asked if Musk was being “vindictive” towards her, she said this was how Musk typically reacted when women spoke up or criticised him, The NY Post reported.

In February this year, Ms Clair announced that Musk was the father of her five-month-old child. She said she kept the details confidential for the child’s protection but chose to make them public after discovering that tabloids were already preparing to publish the story.

Elon Musk, married thrice, has fathered 12 children. He had six children from his first marriage with Justine Wilson. One of their children died, while the surviving five are twins Vivian and Griffin, and triplets Kai, Saxon, and Damian.

The 52-year-old then had three children with his second wife, musician Grimes. The kids are Techno Mechanicus, Exa Dark Siderael, and X.

He has three children — twins Strider and Azure, and a third child born in June 2024 — with current partner Shivon Zilis, Director of Operations and Special Projects at Neuralink.

  • California Woman Sets Guinness World Record For Longest Female Tongue

California Woman Sets Guinness World Record For Longest Female Tongue

A California woman has set the Guinness World Record for the longest tongue (female) in the world. Chanel Tapper’s extraordinary tongue, measuring 9.75 cm long (3.8 inches), is twice the length of an average human tongue and almost the size of an iPhone.

Guinness World Record (GWR) has shared a video of the record-holder on Instagram with the caption, “Longest tongue (female) 9.75 cm (3.8 in) measured from the tip to the middle of lip – Chanel Tapper.”

In the video, Ms Tapper is seen doing a series of unusual feats, including touching her nose with her tongue, removing Jenga blocks, flipping Red Solo cups, holding a spoon by curling her tongue around it and even taking out a lemon from a glass of water.

The 34-year-old said she enjoyed it when people yelled or screamed in shock, or even horror at times, looking at her tongue. “But that’s probably my favourite one because it’s funny to me because it’s a dramatic response,” she said.

She added she liked doing little fun and silly things. Talking about her favourite thing about being a record holder, she said, “When I get to travel and meet other record holders as well … It’s fun, and of course, I get to see the parts of the world I’ve never seen before.”

According to an earlier GWR report, Ms Tapper first noticed her incredible tongue when she was eight in her Halloween photos with her mother.

Last year, Ms Tapper appeared in an advertisement for the fashion brand Diesel, where her tongue was painted in blue and green for a stunning photo series for the Italian brand’s “Welcome to Successful Living” campaign.

While Ms Tapper holds the record for the longest tongue in the world (female), Nick Stoeberl from the USA holds the record for the longest tongue (male) with a measurement of 10.1 cm (3.97 in).

  • Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Sexual Assault Lawsuit Dismissed After Victim Refuses To Reveal Identity

Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Sexual Assault Lawsuit Dismissed After Victim Refuses To Reveal Identity

Disgraced rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs seems to have lucked out as a New York judge dismissed one of the many sexual assault lawsuits against him.

The lawsuit was dismissed after a victim, who uses the proxy name, ‘Jane Doe’, chose not to reveal her identity by pursuing the case, reports ‘Variety’.

In the lawsuit, originally filed by attorney Tony Buzbee in October 2024, Jane claimed that Combs attempted to sexually assault her at a New York City party in 1995 and violently struck her when she refused his advances.

As per ‘Variety’, in January, Buzbee filed a motion for Jane to proceed anonymously, which the court denied, stating that the “very gravity of the charges” combined with “no evidence of specific and concrete harm… undermin(ed) her claim to proceed anonymously”.

After the court ordered Jane to file a complaint under her name by March 20, the judge dismissed the case on Monday as she chose not to pursue the case further. Buzbee explained in a statement that she did not feel comfortable revealing her identity and ultimately decided not to refile.

“In this particular case, Jane Doe opted not to proceed”, he said. “There is a lot of fear amongst these plaintiffs. I thus can’t blame her. These are tough cases and they are many times re-traumatizing for those who pursue them. Each case stands on its own merit. This woman chose not to proceed and subject herself to the media circus and the perceived danger she felt. We have to respect that”.

The rapper’s legal team shared with ‘Variety’ that this dismissal is a sign of what’s to come with other pending cases.

“Today a federal judge dismissed a lawsuit filed against Mr. Combs by Texas attorney Anthony Buzbee and his local counsel Antigone Curis on behalf of an anonymized plaintiff”, reads the statement. “This is now the second case brought by these attorneys against Mr. Combs that has been dismissed in its entirety. It will not be the last. For months, we have seen case after case filed by individuals hiding behind anonymity, pushed forward by attorneys more focused on media headlines than legal merit. The other claims, like the one dismissed today, also will not hold up in a court of law”.

  • Will Yogi Adityanath Be PM In Future? He Says “Politics Not My Full-Time Job”

Will Yogi Adityanath Be PM In Future? He Says “Politics Not My Full-Time Job”

Politics is not a full-time job for him and he remains a Yogi at heart, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said, dismissing speculation about him becoming the prime minister in the future.

In an interview with PTI, Mr Adityanath said his primary role is serving the people of Uttar Pradesh, as entrusted by his party.

“I am the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, and the party has placed me here to serve the people of the state,” he said.

When asked about the growing support for him as a potential prime minister, Mr Adityanath said, “Politics is not a full-time job for me. Ultimately, I am a Yogi (monk) at heart.” On how long he plans to remain in politics, the chief minister said, “There will be a time frame for this as well.” Asked if his response meant that politics was not his permanent profession, Mr Adityanath reiterated, “Yes, that is what I am saying.” Explaining his perspective on the intersection of religion and politics, Mr Adityanath said, “We limit religion to a confined space and restrict politics to a handful of people, and that is where the problem arises.

“If politics is driven by self-interest, it will create problems. But if it is for the greater good, it will provide solutions. We have to choose between being part of the problem or the solution, and I believe this is what religion also teaches us.

“When religion is pursued for self-interest, it creates new challenges. However, when one dedicates themselves to a higher purpose, it opens up new avenues for progress.” Mr Adityanath also said that Indian tradition does not associate religion with self-interest.

“The Indian philosophical thought has never linked religion with selfish motives. Its goals have been twofold: to pave the way for progress in worldly life and to achieve spiritual liberation. Both ultimately serve the purpose of service. Politics is merely a platform to advance this spirit of service,” he said.

On whether he considers himself more of a religious figure or a political leader, Mr Adityanath asserted, “I work as a citizen and do not consider myself special. As a citizen, my constitutional duties come first.

“For me, the nation is paramount. If the country is safe, my religion is safe. When religion is secure, the path to welfare automatically opens.” Asked if he sees himself leaving behind a legacy 100 years from now, Mr Adityanath responded, “It is not the name but the work that should be remembered. One’s identity should be through their work, not their name.”

Bengaluru Teacher Arrested For Extortion After Affair With Student’s Father

A Bengaluru teacher has been arrested on charges of blackmail and extorting money from a student’s parent with whom she had been having an affair.

The Central Crime Branch arrested 25-year-old Sridevi Rudagi and two others – Ganesh Kale, 38, and Sagar, 28 – for allegedly extorting Rs 4 lakh from Satish (name changed) and then blackmailing him, with photos and videos of their encounters, for a further Rs 20 lakh.

According to the police, Satish, a trader living in a western Bengaluru neighbourhood with his wife and three daughters, had enrolled his youngest, a five-year-old, in the school in 2023.

He met Rudagi during the admission process and, according to him, she kept in touch, and they began exchanging messages and video calls on a separate SIM card and phone.

    Eventually their meetings turned personal.

Rudagi then extorted Rs 4 lakh from the father.

Then, in January, she demanded Rs 15 lakh.

As the father hesitated, she visited his home on the pretext of borrowing Rs 50,000.

Later, as his business suffered setbacks, the father made a difficult decision – to relocate his family to Gujarat. And he needed the child’s Transfer Certificate.

This was in early March, when the nightmare broke.

According to the father, on reaching the school, he found himself cornered in Rudagi’s office, with Kale and Sagar also present. The latter showed the father the private photographs and videos, and then demanded Rs 20 lakh or these would be sent to his family.

The father said he tried to reason with them and negotiated a payment of Rs 15 lakh, with an initial transfer of Rs 1.9 lakh. But the demands continued.

On March 17, Rudagi called him on the phone to remind him of the payment – Rs 5 lakh for a former police officer and Rs 1 lakh each for Sagar and Kale, and the remaining Rs 8 lakh for her.

Satish then called the police, who quickly established the police officer had no connection. Rudagi, Sagar, and Kale were arrested and sent to judicial custody for 14 days.

  • ‘Might As Well Split Bangladesh…’: Northeast Leaders Slam Dhaka Remark

The remarks by Muhammad Yunus, the Bangladesh interim government’s chief advisor, on the Northeastern states have drawn sharp reactions in India. While Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has described the remarks as “offensive”, Congress’s Pawan Khera has said Dhaka’s approach is dangerous for the Northeast and questioned the Centre’s foreign policy.

A video of Mr Yunus’s remarks, apparently made during his four-day trip to China, is doing the rounds on social media. “The seven states of India, the eastern part of India, are called the seven sisters. They are a landlocked region of India. They have no way to reach out to the ocean,” he is heard saying. He says Bangladesh is the “guardian of the ocean” for the region. “This opens up a huge possibility. This could be an extension for the Chinese economy,” he said.

The remarks came amid Dhaka’s outreach to Beijing in the aftermath of the ouster of the Sheikh Hasina regime. India, which has given refuge to the former Prime Minister, has been watching the interim government’s geopolitical moves. Dhaka and Delhi have exchanged stern remarks after India raised concerns over reports of attacks on minorities. In a friendly gesture on Bangladesh’s Liberation Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote to Mr Yunus, reiterating India’s commitment to advancing the partnership between the two countries.

The Bangladesh leader’s remarks have now stoked tensions again. Assam Chief Minister Sarma has hit out at Mr Yunus’s remarks and said it is imperative to develop more robust rail and road networks connecting the Northeast to the rest of the country.

“The statement made by Md Younis of Bangladesh so called interim Government referring to the seven sister states of Northeast India as landlocked and positioning Bangladesh as their guardian of ocean access, is offensive and strongly condemnable. This remark underscores the persistent vulnerability narrative associated with India’s strategic ‘Chicken’s Neck’ corridor.” The Chicken’s Neck Corridor is a stretch of land in West Bengal’s Siliguri which connects the region to the rest of India. Nepal, Bangladesh and Bhutan surround this stretch.

“Historically, even internal elements within India have dangerously suggested severing this critical passageway to isolate the Northeast from the mainland physically. Therefore, it is imperative to develop more robust railway and road networks both underneath and around the Chicken’s Neck corridor. Additionally, exploring alternative road routes connecting the Northeast to mainland India, effectively bypassing the Chicken’s Neck, should be prioritised,” Mr Sarma said.

“Though this may pose significant engineering challenges, it is achievable with determination and innovation. Such provocative statements by Md Younis must not be taken lightly, as they reflect deeper strategic considerations and longstanding agendas,” he added.

Mr Yunus’ remarks drew a sharp response from Pradyot Manikya, who leads the Tipra Motha party in Tripura. “Time for india to make a route to the ocean by supporting our indigenous people who once ruled Chittagong so we are no longer dependent on an ungrateful regime,” he said. “India’s biggest mistake was to let go of the port in 1947 despite the hill people living there wanting to be a part of the indian union. Mr Yunus may think he is the guardian of the ocean but the reality is he a stop-gap leader at the age of almost 85 . Let’s not forget Tripura is only a few miles away from the port he is speaking away,” he said.

Mr Manikya also responded to Mr Sarma’s infra push suggestion. “Rather than spending billions on innovative and challenging engineering ideas, we might as well break up Bangladesh and have our own access to the sea. The Chittagong hill tracts were always inhabited by indigenous tribes which always wanted to be part of india since 1947. There are lakhs and lakhs of Tripuri , Garo ,Khasi and Chakma people which reside in Bangladesh in terrible conditions in their traditional lands . This should be utilised for our national interest and for their well being,” he said.

Senior Congress leader Pawan Khera said Bangladesh was inviting China for a siege of India. “The Bangladesh government’s approach is very dangerous for the safety of our Northeast. The government is not watching Manipur and China has established a village in Arunachal Pradesh. Our foreign policy is in such a deplorable state that the country, for whose creation we played a major role, is now busy trying to surround us,” he said.

Gaurav Gogoi, a senior Congress leader from Assam, said Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently wrote to Bangladesh, highlighting the “strong ties” between the two nations. “After that Muhammad Yunus’ recent remarks about Northeast India and China are deeply concerning and unacceptable, as they undermine India’s sovereignty and territorial integrity,” he said.

Sanjeev Sanyal, a member of Prime Minister Modi’s economy advisory council, questioned why Mr Yunus mentioned the Northeast. “Interesting that Yunus is making a public appeal to the Chinese on the basis that 7 states in India are land-locked. China is welcome to invest in Bangladesh, but what exactly is the significance of 7 Indian states being landlocked?” he said.

Former Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh, Veena Sikri, also condemned Mr Yunus’ statement. “Very shocking statement by Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus. He has absolutely no right to make a statement like that. He knows that the northeast is an integral part of India, and we have had very close discussions with the Government of Bangladesh on access by Northeast India to the Bay of Bengal, and there are formal agreements on this,” she told news agency ANI.
