United Nations Secretary General Guterres strongly condemns Pahalgam attack

United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres has strongly condemned the “armed attack” in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir, stressing that attacks against civilians are unacceptable under any circumstances.

“The Secretary-General strongly condemns the armed attack in Jammu and Kashmir on 22 April, in which at least 28 people were killed,” Stephane Dujarric, spokesman for the Secretary-General, said.

Mr. Guterres offered his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families of the victims. “The Secretary-General stresses attacks against civilians are unacceptable under any circumstances,” Mr. Dujarric said.

Militants opened fire at a famed meadow near Kashmir’s Pahalgam town on Tuesday (April 22, 2025) afternoon, killing 26 people, mostly tourists, in what is the deadliest attack in the Valley since the Pulwama strike in 2019.

The 26 victims of the attack included two foreigners — from UAE and Nepal — and two locals. The toll is still being ascertained, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said while describing the terror attack as “much larger than anything we’ve seen directed at civilians in recent years”.

  • El Salvador’s president slams Venezuela’s Maduro for rejecting prisoner swap proposal

El Salvador’s president slams Venezuela’s Maduro for rejecting prisoner swap proposal

The Salvadoran president on Tuesday (April 22, 2025) criticised Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro’s rejection of a swap that would see Venezuelan deportees from the United States detained in El Salvador exchanged for what he said were “political prisoners” in Venezuela.

Mr. Maduro has demanded the immediate release of 250 Venezuelans held in an El Salvador mega-prison built by Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele to house gang members. Mr. Maduro claimed in his weekly televised address on Monday (April 21, 2025) that “Bukele is a serial violator of the right to freedom, fair treatment, and human dignity.”

He urged that Mr. Bukele, instead of an exchange, sign “a decree granting unconditional freedom” to the deportees.

For his part, Mr. Bukele in a post on X on Tuesday (April 22, 2025) goaded Mr. Maduro, asking wasn’t the Venezuelan leader the one who said he’d do “whatever it takes” to secure the release of the Venezuelans detained in El Salvador.

Mr. Bukele and Mr. Maduro’s comments underscore the two leaders’ longstanding animosity, rooted in diametrically opposed political visions.

While both Governments have faced fierce democratic and human rights criticisms in recent years, Mr. Bukele has increasingly cosied up to US President Donald Trump while right-wing figures have long held up Mr. Maduro as an example of democratic decay.

Among those Mr. Bukele wants to set free by Mr. Maduro are the son-in-law of former Venezuelan presidential candidate Edmundo Gonzalez, several political leaders seeking asylum in the Argentine Embassy in Venezuela, and what he said were 50 detained citizens from a number of different countries across the world.

In his initial proposal on Sunday (April 20, 2025), Mr. Bukele also listed the mother of Venezuela’s opposition leader María Corina Machado, whose house remains allegedly surrounded by Venezuelan police since January.

The proposal triggered an angry response from Venezuela’s Government, which demanded Mr. Bukele’s Government provide a list of all Venezuelans detained in El Salvador, along with details about their health.

Mr. Bukele reiterated his proposal in the social media post on Tuesday (April 22, 2025), citing Venezuela’s 2023 prisoner swap with the Biden administration for a Mr. Maduro ally.

“Weren’t you the one who said you would do “whatever it takes” to secure the release of the Venezuelans detained in El Salvador?” Mr. Bukele wrote on X, addressing Mr. Maduro.

  • How Trump is framing Christians as victims in world’s most Christian nation

US President Donald Trump has launched a federal task force to investigate alleged “anti-Christian bias” in government workplaces. The initiative, unveiled by Attorney General Pam Bondi on Tuesday, urges federal employees to report colleagues for perceived hostility toward Christian beliefs.
The task force was created through an executive order signed by Trump, who continues to position himself as a defender of conservative Christian values. The order comes despite Christians forming the religious majority in the United States—about two-thirds of the population—and enjoying significant political representation.
Federal employees have now been instructed to report suspected bias against Christian beliefs, providing names, dates, and details. A memo from Veterans Affairs Secretary Doug Collins asked staff to flag any informal practices they believe are hostile to Christian views. Similar instructions have gone out to other agencies, including the State Department.

WATCH: AG Bondi “anti-Christian” task force announcement

    Trump’s religious rhetoric
Trump’s renewed focus on “Christian persecution” follows years of courting evangelical voters. His administration includes several known Christian nationalists, such as Vice President JD Vance and Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth.
Though Donald Trump is not Catholic, he has been using more religious language in his public speeches, especially in recent years. His focus on faith became even stronger after a failed assassination attempt during a campaign rally. At the National Prayer Breakfast in February, Trump said, “God was watching me,” and spoke about the need for religion to play a bigger role in public life. “We have to make religion a much more important factor now,” he said. “It unifies people.”
As part of this renewed focus, Trump signed an executive order in February to set up a White House Faith Office. The aim, according to him, is to address what he calls “anti-Christian bias” in the federal government.
Evangelical pastor Paula White, who has been one of Trump’s closest spiritual advisers, continues to play a leading role in his faith-based efforts. She had earlier headed the White House Faith and Opportunity Initiative during Trump’s first term.
    What’s Trump’s religion?
For many years, Donald Trump identified as a mainline Protestant and regularly attended Marble Collegiate Church in New York. He often spoke about being influenced by the church’s well-known pastor, Norman Vincent Peale, who preached the power of positive thinking. But in a 2020 interview with Religion News Service, Trump shared that his religious views had shifted.
“Though I was confirmed at a Presbyterian church as a child, I now consider myself to be a nondenominational Christian,” he said.
Trump explained that the change came after he and First Lady Melania Trump started attending different types of churches and listening to a variety of spiritual leaders. He also mentioned that during the Covid-19 pandemic, they often joined online worship services, which gave them new perspectives on faith.

  • Donald Trump says he has ‘no intention of firing’ Fed Reserve Chair Jerome Powell

Donald Trump says he has ‘no intention of firing’ Fed Reserve Chair Jerome Powell

US president Donald Trump on Tuesday said he does not plan to remove Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell, even as he renewed his call for the central bank to lower interest rates. Speaking at a White House event, Trump tried to ease market concerns sparked by speculation about Powell’s future. “I have no intention of firing him,” said Trump responding a question by a news reporter.
Financial markets had recently seen a sharp sell-off, as investors grew worried that Trump might try to force Powell out. Stocks, bonds, and the dollar all took a hit amid the uncertainty. According to reports, Trump’s advisers have warned him that removing Powell would not only be legally complex but could also worsen market instability.
Trump has been unhappy with Powell’s stance on interest rates. The Federal Reserve has so far resisted lowering rates, citing inflation concerns. Last week, Powell said that tariffs imposed by the Trump administration were likely to raise inflation and lower economic growth. He also stressed that the Fed had a duty to keep price pressures in check, suggesting that interest rate cuts were not likely in the short term.

Trump Says He Doesn’t Plan to Fire Fed Chair Powell

Trump reacted strongly to Powell’s comments. On Monday, he accused the Fed chair of being “too late” and a “major loser,” insisting that the economy faced a slowdown unless rates were cut immediately.
“With these costs trending so nicely downward, just what I predicted they would do, there can almost be no inflation, but there can be a slowing of the economy unless Mr. too late, a major loser, lowers interest rates, now,” Trump wrote on social media, referring to Powell.
Although Trump now says Powell’s job is safe, his repeated public criticism has raised questions about the Fed’s independence. The matter could become even more significant, with the Supreme Court preparing to hear a case about the president’s authority to remove officials from independent federal agencies—potentially affecting the Federal Reserve as well.

New Jersey wildfire burns 1,200 acres, prompts evacuations

    Screengrab

A fast-moving wildfire in Barnegat Township, Ocean County, New Jersey, has prompted mandatory evacuations for residents in several areas. According to the New Jersey Forest Fire Service, the fire has already burned about 1,200 acres and remains completely uncontained.
Evacuations are currently underway along Wells Mills Road, between Bryant Road and the Garden State Parkway. CBS news reported that authorities have confirmed sixteen structures are under threat and have been evacuated as a precaution. Aerial footage from the area shows parts of the Greenwood Forest Wildlife Management Area engulfed in flames, with thick smoke visible from miles away.

    New Jersey Wildfire Causes Evacuations

The wildfire has also caused significant traffic disruption. The Garden State Parkway has been shut in both directions near Exit 69. Several local roads have also been closed, including Rt. 532 (Wells Mills Road) from Route 72 to the Parkway, Bryant Road between Rt. 532 and Rt. 539, and Jones Road between Rt. 532 and Bryant Road.
Firefighting crews have deployed both a helicopter and a fixed-wing aircraft to drop water on the fire in an effort to slow its spread. No injuries have been reported so far.
Officials have urged the public to stay away from the area and strictly advised against flying drones in the fire zone, which can interfere with emergency aircraft. The cause of the wildfire is still under investigation.

“My Husband Was Shot In Head”: Woman On Pahalgam Terror Attack

Shrieks for help pierced the skies of Baisaran meadows in this south Kashmir resort as more than a dozen tourists lay motionless in pools of blood following one of the deadliest terror attacks on civilians in recent years in J-K.

Heavily armed terrorists walked out of the woods of Baisaran, a meadow atop a hill in Pahalgam, and surrounded a group of around 40 tourists. The terrorists started firing on the tourists indiscriminately, leaving multiple people dead and injuring at least 20.

Witnesses claimed that as soon as the bullets started flying, the handful of locals who earn a livelihood from tourism ran for safety, leaving the tourists as sitting ducks.

“My husband was shot in the head while seven others were also injured in the attack,” a woman survivor told PTI over phone.

The woman did not identity herself but pleaded for help in evacuating the injured to the hospital.

“Bhaiyya please mere husband ko bacha lo (Brother, please save my husband),” the woman pleaded frantically with this reporter.

As the famed meadows are only accessible by foot or ponies, authorities had to summon choppers for the evacuation of the injured, officials said.

  • SBI AMC, Birla AMC and Invesco MF Likely to Join Ather IPO as Anchor Investors

SBI AMC, Birla AMC and Invesco MF Likely to Join Ather IPO as Anchor Investors

Electric two-wheeler maker Ather Energy’s IPO is set to get off to a strong start with SBI Asset Management Company (AMC) slated to be the chief anchor investor, according to sources in the know. Other prominent domestic investors joining as anchor investors include Birla AMC and Invesco Mutual Fund.

The IPO is scheduled to open to the general public on Monday, but will open to anchor investors on Friday.

Among foreign investors expected to get in at the anchor investor stage are Franklin Offshore, Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, and Morgan Stanley.

According to sources, the company is aiming for a valuationof ₹12,500 crore ($1.47 billion) to ₹12,900 crore ($1.51 billion). There have, however, been reports that the company will seek a valuation of $1.4  billion.(Rs 11,926 crore), citing unnamed company sources.

This mark Ather as the second electric two-wheeler startup to enter the public domain, trailing only Ola Electric, which secured ₹6,146 crore at a $4 billion valuation.

Headquartered in the technology capital of Bengaluru, Ather Energy plans to raise ₹2,980 crore from the primary market. Of this, ₹2,626 crore will arise from the fresh issuance of equity.

The revised offer is nearly 20% more modest than the earlier projections of ₹3,500–3,700 crore. Funds raised will be channeled toward the establishment of a new electric two-wheeler manufacturing facility in Maharashtra and the repayment of select borrowings—an investment in both infrastructure and fiscal prudence.

Within India’s evolving electric mobility landscape, Ather ranks as the fourth-largest electric two-wheeler manufacturer, following in the tracks of Ola Electric, TVS Motor Company, and Bajaj Auto.

According to the government’s Vahan vehicle registration data, Ather recorded sales of 15,446 units in March 2025, seizing a 12% market share for the month. For the fiscal year, its share settled at 11.2%, with a total of 130,737 units sold—an appreciable rise from the previous year’s 108,936 units. Ola Electric remains the dominant force, with a commanding 29.5% market share in FY25.

Financially, Ather posted revenues of ₹1,753 crore for FY24, a marginal dip from ₹1,780 crore in FY23. Yet, its net loss deepened to ₹1,059 crore, up from ₹864 crore the year prior, as outlined in its Draft Red Herring Prospectus (DRHP). Hero MotoCorp retains a 37.3% stake on a pre-money basis, and the forthcoming IPO is anticipated to unlock considerable value for the legacy automaker—potentially enhancing its sum-of-the-parts valuation by ₹250–275 per share, based on Ather’s estimated $1.5 billion valuation.

Renowned for its 450X series, Ather Energy had previously raised ₹600 crore from the National Infrastructure Fund in August 2024, which placed the company’s valuation at $1.2 billion (₹11,000 crore). This implied a 6.6x EV/Sales ratio, a figure not uncommon among high-growth startups yet to attain profitability. For comparison, Ola Electric’s IPO was floated at a 7.1x multiple. Market observers now suggest that Ather may justifiably command a richer valuation, owing to its asset-light model and unwavering focus on cost rationalization.

  • Marelli Unveils New Automotive Lighting Technologies at Auto Shanghai 2025

Marelli, a global technology supplier to the automotive industry, revealed three new lighting technologies at Auto Shanghai 2025 on Tuesday, including what it claims is the world’s first OLED TFT application in a rear lamp.

The company is showcasing its “Pixel Rear Lamp,” “Near-Field Ground Projection” system, and “Thin Lit Line Headlamp” at the Shanghai National Exhibition and Convention Center from April 23 to May 2 at its booth in Hall 1.2H.

The Pixel Rear Lamp integrates high-resolution display technology into taillights, allowing vehicles to communicate status and driving intentions to other road users through dynamic images. According to Marelli, this technology improves driving safety while providing automotive designers with greater flexibility for creating personalized lighting signatures.

Marelli’s Near-Field Ground Projection technology enables vehicles to project dynamic color images onto the ground around the car. The system can display warning signs, indicate vehicle actions such as turning or braking, show autonomous driving status, and even project entertainment content. The modules can be installed in various locations around the vehicle, creating a 360-degree lighting impression.

The third innovation, the Thin Lit Line Headlamp, features an ultra-slim 5-millimeter profile while maintaining essential functions like adaptive driving beam, low beam, turn signals, and daytime running lights.

Frank Huber, President of Marelli’s Lighting business, stated, “These solutions demonstrate our ambition to continue setting trends in the automotive lighting field, aiming to co-create solutions with our customers that enhance and personalize car design and the driving experience, while also increasing safety functions.”

According to Marelli, both the Near-Field Ground Projection module and Thin Lit Line Headlamp are ready for mass production, with the company noting that its standardized module platform and localized development capabilities have shortened the product development cycle.

Automotive lighting has evolved significantly over the past decade from simple illumination to becoming a key element in vehicle design, brand identity, and safety systems. As vehicles become more connected and autonomous, lighting systems are increasingly serving as communication tools between cars and their surroundings.

Marelli, formed through the merger of Calsonic Kansei and Magneti Marelli in 2019, employs approximately 45,000 people across more than 150 sites globally. The company has been expanding its presence in China, the world’s largest automotive market, where demand for advanced vehicle technologies continues to grow.

Auto Shanghai, also known as the Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition, is one of the world’s largest auto shows and a key platform for manufacturers to showcase their latest innovations in the rapidly evolving Chinese automotive market.

Caladium Investments Pte Ltd, National Investment and Infrastructure Fund II, Internet Fund III Pte Ltd, and cofounders Tarun Mehta and Swapnil Jain are among the investors who will offload their shares via OFS. Hero MotoCorp Ltd–which is the largest shareholder in Ather with a 38.19% stake–is not selling any shares in the issue.

Ather did not disclose a specific reason for downsizing its IPO. However, the move comes amid heightened volatility in global markets and weakening consumption trends in India, which have led to broader uncertainty in domestic equities. Investor sentiment has also been mixed toward capital-intensive businesses, prompting several issuers to recalibrate their public offering plans in line with market expectations around profitability and capital efficiency.

Ather’s IPO will open for subscription on April 28 and close on April 30, with anchor bidding scheduled for April 25. The company’s equity shares are proposed to be listed on both BSE and NSE, with NSE designated as the lead exchange.

Of the funds raised from the fresh issue of shares, Ather plans to use Rs 927.2 crore for capital expenditure of its upcoming facility in Aurangabad (Maharashtra). The company also plans to invest Rs 750 crore in research and development, and spend Rs 300 crore on marketing activities and Rs 40 crore for repayment of debt.

The electric two-wheeler maker expects to start production at the Aurangabad facility–which will be its third manufacturing unit–in a phased manner from July 2026. The new facility will manufacture both electric two-wheelers and battery packs. Currently, Ather has two manufacturing facilities in Tamil Nadu, one dedicated to battery production and the other for vehicle assembly.

“At the Hosur Factory (in Tamil Nadu), we had a total annual installed capacity of 420,000 units for E2Ws and 379,800 units for battery packs as of December 31, 2024. We are in the process of building the first phase of our Factory 3.0 in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (formerly Aurangabad), Maharashtra, India to expand our total installed production capacity to 1.42 million E2Ws upon completion of phase two,” the company said.

Ather currently offers two electric scooter models – Ather 450 and Ather Rizta with a total of seven variants on a single platform. It is also developing a motorcycle platform named Zenith and a new scooter platform named EL.

During the financial year 2024, Ather Energy sold a total of 1.10 lakh electric two-wheelers, up from 92,093 units sold in the financial year 2023. For FY24, the company reported a revenue of Rs 1,753.8 crore, down 2% on year. Of the topline, 90% came from vehicle sales and the rest from non-vehicle business. The company also reported a net loss of Rs 1,059.7 crore in FY24, compared to a loss of Rs 864.5 crore in FY23.

Axis Capital, HSBC Securities and Capital Markets (India), JM Financial, Nomura Financial Advisory and Securities (India) are booking running lead managers for the issue.

  • Belgian court rejects Choksi’s bail plea, says his lawyer

A Belgian court on Tuesday (April 22, 2025) rejected the bail plea of Mehul Choksi, the diamond merchant who is a prime accused in the ₹13,000-crore PNB fraud case, his lawyer said.

The diamantaire was arrested in Antwerp by the Belgian police on April 12 based on an extradition request moved by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED).

His lawyer Vijay Aggarwal said the bail plea of his client has been rejected during a court hearing on Tuesday.

Mr. Choksi will contest his extradition from jail custody now, a senior official said.

Mr. Choksi, 65, was located in Belgium last year after he reached there sometime in November 2023 on the grounds of getting medical treatment.

He had been staying in Antigua after leaving India in 2018 and had taken citizenship of the Caribbean country even though his Indian citizenship is stated to be valid.

At least two open-ended arrest warrants, issued by a special court in Mumbai in 2018 and 2021, have been shared by the Indian agencies with their Belgian counterparts as part of the extradition request, official sources had said earlier.

Mr. Aggarwal had earlier stated that Choksi was “extremely sick and undergoing treatment for cancer”.

Mr. Choksi, Nirav Modi, their family members and employees, bank officials and others were booked by the CBI and the ED in 2018 for perpetrating the alleged loan fraud at the Brady House branch of the Punjab National Bank (PNB) in Mumbai.

It was alleged that Mr. Choksi, his firm Gitanjali Gems and others “committed the offence of cheating against PNB in connivance with certain bank officials by fraudulently getting the LOUs (letters of undertaking) issued and got the FLCs (foreign letter of credit) enhanced without following prescribed procedure and caused a wrongful loss to the bank”.

The CBI has filed at least two chargesheets against him in this case while the ED has filed three prosecution complaints.

Terrorists cursed Modi, asked my father to recite Islamic verse before shooting him: Daughter

The family was cowering in fear inside a tent when terrorists came. They asked Santosh Jagdale, 54, to come out and recite an Islamic verse. When he couldn’t, they shot him thrice: once in the head, then behind the ear and then his back.

The 26-year-old daughter of the Pune businessman recounted to PTI the terror the family went through in the horrific attack in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday (April 22, 2025).

After her father fell to the ground, the gunmen turned on her uncle who was lying next to her and shot him several times in the back.

“We were a group of five people, including my parents. We were in Baisaran Valley near Pahalgam and were at a spot called Mini Switzerland when the firing began,” Asavari Jagdale told PTI in a telephonic interview five hours after the shooting.

According to officials, a total of 26 people were killed and several injured, most of them tourists in the deadliest terrorist attack in Kashmir in recent years.

Ms. Asavari does not know if her father and uncle are alive or among the dead.

She, her mother and another female relative were spared, and locals and security forces evacuated them to Pahalgam Club where they remain clueless about the fate of the two men.

Ms. Asavari, 26, a human resource professional in Pune, said the family was on a vacation at the idyllic spot when they heard firing from “people who wore clothes similar to those of local police” descending from the nearby hill.

“We immediately rushed to a nearby tent for protection. So did six to seven others (tourists). We all lay down on the ground as protection against the firing which we then assumed was between the terrorists and security personnel,” Ms. Asavari said.

She said the group of terrorists first came to a nearby tent and opened fire.

“Then they came to our tent and asked my father to come out,” she said.

“They said ‘Chaudhari tu bahar aa ja’” Ms. Asavari said.

Then the terrorists blamed them for supporting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, after which they made some statements to deny that Kashmiri militants kill innocent people, women and children, she said.

“They then asked my father to recite an Islamic verse (probably the Kalma). When he failed to do so, they pumped three bullets into him, one on the head, one behind the ear and another in the back,” she said.

“My uncle was next to me. The terrorists fired four to five bullets into him.

They shot several other males who were at the spot. There was nobody to help. No police or army, who reached 20 minutes later. Even the locals there were reciting the Islamic verse.

“The people who took us to the spot on ponies helped us— three women, including myself and my mother— make the return journey. Later we underwent medical examination to check for injuries and were then shifted to Pahalgam Club.

“The firing happened around 3:30 p.m. It has been five hours and there has been no update on my father’s and uncle’s medical condition,” Ms. Asavari said.

Priyanka Gandhi alleges misuse of probe agencies, claims PM Modi’s advisers giving wrong suggestions

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra criticises PM Modi for misusing probe agencies for political purposes and defends her family against baseless allegations in ongoing ED investigations.

    New Delhi:

Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Tuesday took a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, accusing him of receiving misguided advice from his advisers regarding the ongoing Enforcement Directorate (ED) investigations into her family. Gandhi claimed that the Indian public is fully aware of the misuse of investigative agencies for political purposes.

Speaking to the media, Gandhi remarked that she was still awaiting an “invitation” from the ED for questioning and expressed curiosity as to why she had not been summoned yet. “I’m waiting for the ED to call me. Why haven’t they summoned me yet?” she questioned, dismissing the allegations against her family as baseless.

The Congress leader also rejected the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)’s accusations against her mother, Sonia Gandhi, and brother, Rahul Gandhi, regarding the alleged illegal acquisition of properties worth Rs 2,000 crore through the National Herald issue. Gandhi clarified that no property was owned by the Gandhis personally, nor could they sell or transfer such assets. “How can it be called a property grab when the assets are not in their names?” she asked, describing the charges as a “pack of lies.”

Addressing the provocative actions of BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj, who was spotted carrying a bag labeled “National Herald ki loot” during a recent ‘One Nation, One Election’ meeting, Priyanka Gandhi questioned whether the BJP leader was carrying the alleged “loot” in her bag.

Further commenting on the ED’s ongoing probe, Priyanka Gandhi also defended her husband, Robert Vadra, who has been repeatedly summoned by the ED in connection with a 2008 Haryana land deal linked to a money laundering case. She expressed frustration over the line of questioning, highlighting that Vadra was being interrogated about irrelevant matters, such as a Rs 4 lakh transaction he made to his mother 17 years ago. “Why is my husband being asked about a Rs 4 lakh gift to his mother?” Gandhi asked, reiterating that the Congress party had been in power in Haryana in 2008.

Priyanka Gandhi also expressed her concerns while observing the ED’s questioning process. She claimed that many individuals being summoned by the agency were victims of politically motivated investigations related to extortion or vendettas. Despite the repeated questioning, she emphasised that her family members were fully cooperating with the authorities.

Referring to the larger picture, Gandhi said that PM Modi’s tactics were failing and that the public could see through the political motives behind the investigations.

The ED had recently filed a chargesheet before a special court in New Delhi, accusing Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and others in the National Herald case, alleging the laundering of nearly Rs 988 crore. In addition, Robert Vadra’s statement was recorded last week about the money laundering case linked to the 2008 Haryana land deal.

The Congress party continues to allege that the investigations are politically motivated, aiming to tarnish the Gandhi family’s image rather than uncover any legitimate wrongdoing.
