Kuchipudi dance festival comes to a close

The three-day Kuchipudi Pathaka Swarnotsavalu at Kuchipudi village in Krishna district came to a grand close on Sunday (December 29), with over 5,000 students, artistes and teachers participating in the programme.

Minister for Excise Kollu Ravindra, Minister for Tourism Kandula Durgesh and Deputy Speaker Raghu Ramakrishna Raju were present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Kandula Durgesh said the classical dance form Andhra Pradesh was neglected for a long time. He said it is the responsibility of the NDA government to make the dance form flourish once again.

Mr. Ravindra said he would take initiatives to provide employment for the artistes and also establish Kuchipudi centres to preserve the dance form for the posterity.
