Gaya school timings revised due to cold

Gaya: In view of the extreme cold in the morning, district magistrate (DM) Thiyagarajan SM has issued an order to ensure the functioning of all govt and private schools, including pre-schools, Aanganwadi centres and coaching institutes, from 9.30am to 4pm. He said in the order that all educational activities at schools and institutions shall remain prohibited before 9.30am and after 4pm.
“Arrangements for the bonfire have been made for common people at all rural and urban areas of the district, including 15 places in the municipal area. Similarly, to provide relief from the biting cold 2,112 blankets, including 743 in Sadar, Sherghati (672), Tekari (141), Neemchak Bathani sub-division (433) and 123 by the social security department, have been distributed. More than 500 blankets are still to be distributed,” the DM said.
The DM inspected the ‘rain basera’ (shelter houses) near Gandhi Maidan on Thursday and instructed to ensure all arrangements. “Anyone coming to Gaya for some work can stay at night at the six shelter homes functional in the municipal area,” he said.
