Buxar: A 24-year-old potato traders died when a tractor in which he was travelling overturned near Laddopur village on the Buxar-Kochas state highway under Muffasil police station in Buxar district on Thursday. The deceased was identified as Lav Kumar, a resident of Birampur village under Gidha police station area in Bhojpur district. According to Arvind Kumar, SHO of Muffasil police station, the deceased was sleeping on the tractor trolley loaded with potato sacks. Due to high speed, the tractor went out of control and overturned in a pit on the side of the road. “Lav was going to Chausa market of Buxar after loading potatoes from Bhojpur. The driver lost control over the tractor at the turn near Laddopur village Nala and the accident occurred. Lav got buried under the potato sacks and died on the spot,” Kumar said. On being informed, a police team reached the spot and took out the body by removing potato sacks with the help of a JCB machine and local people. “We are searching for the driver who fled the spot after the accident. The body was sent to a hospital for postmortem,” the SHO said.
