At least 220 people were killed in Gaza on Tuesday as Israeli forces launched their most intense strikes since the ceasefire began on January 19. The attacks followed the collapse of weeks-long truce negotiations.
Gaza’s civil defence agency reported that the strikes, which took place during Ramadan, claimed the lives of mostly children, women, and the elderly, leaving around 150 others injured. Loud explosions were reported across northern Gaza, Gaza City, Deir al-Balah, Khan Younis, and Rafah in the central and southern regions.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed the strikes in a post on X, stating they were targeting Hamas-linked sites in Gaza as per directives from the political echelon.
