Hundreds of passengers were stranded near Palasa of Srikakulam district with the detachment of two AC bogies of Howrah-bound Falaknuma Express on Tuesday (April 8, 2025) morning.
According to passengers, the incident took place between Summadevi-Mandasa villages, causing inconvenience for the travellers for more than two hours. The Howrah bound train was halted as soon as the incident happened. The railway officials with technicians reached the spot and attached the coaches to the train.
The movement of other trains was delayed in the route as one track was blocked for nearly two hours with the incident. The passengers initially feared that the train was derailed. They heaved a sigh of relief after knowing that the two coaches were detached from the trains.
