The Yemeni Armed Forces have claimed responsibility for shooting down a U.S. MQ-9 Reaper drone over Sana’a using a locally-produced surface-to-air missile. This marks the second American drone downed in 24 hours and the 21st aircraft hit during the current campaign, dubbed the Battle of the Promised Victory. The group says its actions are in retaliation for ongoing U.S. strikes and in solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza.
